As You Hold your Babies, Jesus is Holding You.

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh start. A new day to rise and keep believing that you will see the goodness of the Lord. A new day to keep standing and keep going. Keep praying whether you have seen any movement or not. Keep declaring that we serve a good, good Father who is fighting battles on our behalf. Even if you don’t see a change in the earth yet, heaven is still working all things for the good of those who put their trust in the Lord. Keep your eyes on Jesus as you tread through the storm. Keep your eyes on Jesus as you walk through difficult days. Keep your eyes on Jesus as the wind rages and the rain is pouring down.

When I was in the midst of battling through divorce, I remember feeling like a raging hurricane had arrived in my life and it was changing everything. I remember feeling so weak and so helpless. It was like watching dominoes fall, but being one step too slow to stop the effect. And some days, it felt like hurricane force winds were whipping through everything that I knew to be my life and my home. Walls were falling, the roof was ripping off, and the foundation was cracking, and as this hurricane raged and uprooted almost everything, I felt a strength rising up in me to protect my children.

I would pray in anguish for protection over them, and I covered them from the storm. As things came up, I felt like I was keeping them safe under my wings..and even though the storm was pelting me, they were not experiencing the same hurricane force winds that I was because they were under my shelter. I wouldn’t let the full impact of the storm touch them. The harder the winds blew, the closer I tucked them under.

I look back now and someone was holding me…. Jesus. Even though my children experienced the storm, I took on what I percieved to be the harshest of the winds. But even then there was Jesus standing behind me taking the full force of the storm.

I share this today a little randomly because yesterday as we were driving in the car, a new song came on by Jasmine Murray and within the first few lines, tears were streaming down my face.

She was singing a song to her mama about her mama’s strength to lean on Jesus and protect her all the while fighting battles that her daughter would have to never experience.

To all my mommy friends, your prayers are heard. The battles you fight for your children are seen by the Lord. And just as you protect your children, allow Him to hold you and protect you. Keep believing in your breakthrough, your children are depending on your victory. The battles you win on your knees will carry them forward. And your prayers are powerful. So powerful. You bring heaven down and move and shift things in the earth when you pray. Keep going mama, your children will prosper because of your battle prayers.

Whatever battles you face: relationships, depression, anxiety, job related, family struggles, generations of dysfunction, body image, addiction, or anything else that comes against you……keep battling until you are fully victorious. Your children depend on your victory. Don’t stop mama. You and Jesus got this.

Here are the lyrics and a link to the song: https://youtu.be/xZQIbC8zphs

While you were holding me. You were praying prayers that only mamas do. While you were holding me. You were fighting battles your babies never knew

And I never knew ’til now just how strong you were. Drying all my tears while fighting yours. All that darkness you lived through. Couldn’t dim the light inside of you

All the broken pieces. You kept giving them to Jesus. And He gave you strength to raise me up. Knowing one day I would see. He was holding you, While you were holding me.

While you were holding me, You were showing what it means to live by faith.

And you taught me to believe. There is hope even in the deepest pain. I remember every day. All that darkness you lived through. Couldn’t dim the light inside of you

All the broken pieces. You kept giving them to Jesus

And He gave you strength to raise me up. Knowing one day I would see. He was holding you. While you were holding me

Oh, you spent so many hours, down upon your knees

Shaking on the gates of heaven, calling angels down for me

So selflessly you gave, made me who I am today

And I never knew ’til now, just how strong you were

All that darkness you lived through Couldn’t dim the light inside of you. All the broken pieces, You kept giving them to Jesus

And He gave you strength to raise me up

Knowing one day I would see He was holding you

He was holding you While you were holding me

You were holding me

Dear Heavenly Father,

Hold moms tightly today. Fill up their well with new strength to keep praying, keep battling, keep going with their eyes on You. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Blessings,

Vanessa Lynn

  1. This could not come on a more perfect day. My sister found today, on her husband’s birthday, her 12 week angel is now with the Lord. I pray Jesus gives her and her husband a few extra hugs in the coming days. Thank you for your beautiful post.

    1. Dear Someone,
I pray that peace continues to invade the darkness. That your sister, her husband, and those surrounding her feel unexplainable peace and healing amidst the pain. I pray for her to feel God’s arms wrap around her and touch the pain in a way that she feels comfort on the hardest of days. Praying for your precious family.
      Love, Vanessa
