Bold Promises from God

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and walk in triumph with the Lord.

When you lean into His power and trust in His strength, you will experience victory over all that is waged against you.

Since the beginning of creation, God has been for mankind. He is on our side. He is rallying for us and He is supplying all we need to walk in victory.

He not only protects us, instructs us, and battles for us, BUT He boldly offers up heavy doses of peace right in the midst of the battlefield!

Cover to cover, the bible is filled with bold promises and our Lord will keep every one of them.

Last Monday, as I was praying and crying out to Him, He reminded me that He is the God of Mercy. He is compassionate and merciful and the best part….. He is who He says He is AND He will do and fulfill every single thing that He promises to do.

We serve an all powerful, on the throne, in complete control God who is mighty to save and who shows up in our time of need.

This is a transition period for my family. We have been home and out of our routine since March, and today I return to work. And then in 2 weeks, they all return to school. Since I have to work now, the three youngest started daycare yesterday until school starts.

So yesterday eased us a little into routine. Lunches needed packed. Clothes needed set out. Time suddenly mattered again.

I woke up really early to let the dog out, and such a feeling of heaviness washed over me. It wouldn’t let up. It was suffocating and my stomach had an all too familiar anxious feeling rising up. And, in years past, I would sit and let every awful thought bombard me. I would hop on every worry train. I would entertain all the, “what ifs..”

Instead, I laid back in bed and just prayed. I asked Jesus to come and do what only He could do. I gave Him my worries and my anxious thoughts. I read a few chapters in my bible plan AND the best part which is opposite of old me, but a new and growing character trait of the me with Jesus.

I allowed myself grace. I didn’t pressure myself to write or to perform any huge, extraordinary feat on this first day of routine. I just rested in Jesus. And He triumphed yesterday. And I trust that He will triumph again today.

I read a verse this morning in Jeremiah that caught my attention. I never noticed it before.

“Hear this now, O foolish people, Without understanding, Who have eyes and see not, And who have ears and hear not: Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord . ‘Will you not tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it? And though its waves toss to and fro, Yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.

Jeremiah 5:21‭-‬22 NKJV

Did you catch the promise? He has set a boundary line for the waves! They cannot pass beyond where He has drawn the line. The waters may roar and the seas may rage against you. Anxiety may have you fleeing, worries may have you backed against a wall, a heaviness may be staring you in the face, but because you serve a mighty, powerful God who is on your side, He has set a boundary line for the fiery weapons of the enemy, and He promises that they won’t prosper. You can see the weapons flying, but they can’t prosper against you. You can see the raging sea, but the waves can’t touch you. Why?

Because Jesus stands between. Every single struggle you face already has a Holy solution. Run to Him every time with every worry, every racing thought, every need, and He will do what He promises to do. He will deliver you! Time and time and time again.

Friends! Flee to Him this morning. It’s as simple as just admitting that you need His strength over yours. His ways above your own. His peace to overthrow your worries. When you ask, He is faithful to give.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Come and overthrow our worries. Take them off of their place of rule in our minds, and give us the very mind of Christ that you promised. Help us to rest in You and to allow You to battle on our behalf. Lord, fill us with strength to move in the earth and do all You have called us to do. Ease the fear, and replace it with boldness to move in all the spaces we are called to!

In Jesus’s name, Amen.

  1. I needed this today. I don’t have little ones at home but there is so much uncertainty in how this school year will play out that I can’t help but go down those “what if” rabbit trails. Your reminder that God is in control & has drawn a line in the sand that evil cannot cross.

Blessings for an amazing school year for us both, my friend.

  2. Your kids are so cute. 🙂
Reading your post caused me to think about what my pastor says at the end of each service- He Is Able and We Are Sent
