He’s Coming in the Clouds

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to choose Him and a new day to live in expectation for the things to come.

I am reading Revelation right now in the Bible App and we are also studying it in our Bible study group.

I used to be afraid of the book of Revelation, but now as I read it, I see fulfillment of promises all through it.

It is God’s ultimate promise to us that the story has a most glorious ending! Just as He was in total control in the beginning during Creation as He created everything you see by the command of His Word, so He will be in total control in the end as He justly delivers His people and ushers in His Kingdom Reign.

He is a gooooood Father who is patient and merciful and overflowing with compassion, waiting for His Creation to have every opportunity to accept Him and submit to His authority before He comes as King and Judge.

He is the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. He is the Holy Lord who Creates, Sustains, Completes, and Finishes.

The book of Revelation reminds us that the story is so far from over! God’s plans for us are better than our minds can fathom or wrap around. He has promised and prepared such a victory for His people who have persevered throughout this life!

And John, the author of Revelation, was nearing the end of his life. He was living in exile on the island of Patmos which was a prison at the time. He had been persecuted for preaching the gospel. The entire fledgling Christian church was under immense persecution. The life of a follower meant giving up everything even your life at times. Yet, their hope was not found in this short life, it was in Christ alone.

As we read the beginning of Revelation in our small group, my husband pointed out something I hadn’t seen before, John’s excitement in the beginning where he gives away the return of Christ! John is giddy at the beginning of the letter in the greeting to the churches. Remember, they are all being targeted and persecuted for their faith in Jesus. They are being tortured and killed.

And John is visited by Jesus and given a glimpse of the end and told to write down everything he sees. This is the book of Revelation.

When he goes to write it down, he blurts out right near the beginning, “He’s coming! He’s returning in the clouds!”

He can’t contain it! The One that they are living and dying for. The One that they are professing and proclaiming. The One who designed the Earth and Everything in it. The, Alpha is also the Omega AND He is returning just as He promised on the clouds!

He’s coming to finish His redemption plan. He’s coming to rapture, save, deliver, judge, and to rule and reign.

So, just as marvelous as the beginning of the world when Jesus was there speaking life into existence, so will be His return when He comes to collect His people and usher them to their promised land!

And John starts the book of Revelation giving away one of the most exciting parts! He will come in the clouds, in full glory! He will come and nothing can stand against Him. He will be coming for His church. He will be setting every wrong right and ushering a new rule and reign. He will FULFILL every Word that He has spoken!

And that is soooo exciting! After John gives away how He will return, he goes back and begins to tell the story as it will unfold.

Friends, don’t fear His return. Expectantly wait for it. Live with the daily revelation that there is more to this life than what you see.

And Christ’s return is guaranteed. We don’t know the hour, but we do know how He is coming!

Share His Word, preach the full gospel, seek Him with all of your heart, and be waiting for the Lord to come in full glory in the clouds!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your Promises fulfilled! Thank You that there is still more to come. Thank You that Your plans for us are for gooooood and not harm. You have such a glorious rapture and promised land in store for those that love You. Lord, help us to persevere all the way to the end. Help us to spread the gospel with giddy excitement.

In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Blessings and giddy expectation as you wait upon the Lord,

Vanessa Lynn
