Hello Gorgeous,
Have you ever had someone speak to the alive parts of you…
even when your life looked like a graveyard?
That’s what Jesus did in Mark 5.
The mourners were wailing.
The little girl had died.
Hope had left the room.
But Jesus walked in with authority.
He cleared out the mockers.
And then, He spoke directly to her.
“Talitha koum,” He said,
“Little girl, I say to you arise.”
Mark 5:41
He didn’t speak to her like she was dead.
He spoke to her like she was still alive.
Still called. Still chosen. Still His.
And sis… this wrecked me.
Because as I sat reading that scripture one day,
I saw myself in her.
I was the little girl too.

My biological father was a heroin addict.
One night, I watched as he tried to kill my mother.
We fled California and escaped to Florida to survive.
I carried the kind of trauma no child should ever carry.
Poverty. Violence. Fear.
It was like my life had labels:
“Too broken.”
“Too damaged.”
“Too far gone.”
But then, God sent someone.
A man named Joe stepped in like a father.
Gentle. Steady. Present.
He never looked at me with pity.
He saw joy in me.
He would pinch my cheek and smile and say, “Little girl.”
He didn’t know what he was saying.
But God did.
Years later, as I read those words
“Talitha koum, little girl arise”
the tears fell like rain.
Joe was speaking prophetically over me all those years ago…..
He didn’t see a wounded child.
He saw the alive parts of me—
The part God was preserving. The voice God would one day amplify.
Jesus never looked at that little girl and spoke death.
He didn’t say “You were too far gone.”
He said, “It’s time to get up.”
And sis, I believe He’s saying the same to you.
Maybe your identity has been buried under what people have said.
Maybe you’ve been labeled “too quiet,” “too late,” “too stuck.”
Maybe the mourners have already come and gone.
But Jesus?
He’s not here to bury you.
He’s here to resurrect you.
He’s speaking life to the dream in your belly.
He’s speaking resurrection to your voice.
He’s calling the little girl in you to arise.
DECLARE:
I am not too far gone.
Jesus is calling the LIVING parts of me to arise!
My voice, my identity, my dream—they’re rising again.
Tomorrow we go deeper into what happened after she got up—because there’s more.
But today, rest in this truth:
Jesus never speaks to your death.
He always calls your destiny.
With holy fire + full heart,
Vanessa 💛
