Gooood Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh start. A new dawn will emerge soon and wash the day in light. A reminder every single day that no matter how dark the night, no matter how dark the situations we face, no matter the hopelessness we feel at times, the light always overcomes darkness.
Today’s verse of the day is fitting following Easter Weekend.
“Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise!” Psalms 47:1
The darkest night was followed by the brightest resurrection of light three days later. When all hope seemed lost, the light was always in control. When everyone witnessing the events couldn’t possibly imagine a favorable outcome, the best possible outcome was already being fulfilled. Not only would Jesus be resurrected from the dead, He would conquer sin and death for everyone who dared to believe in Him. Everyone who heard the message and believed in their heart would be saved too.
This saving was now available and accessible whether they met Jesus during His walk on earth or if they lived 2000 years later. This saving meant that not only could we also be resurrected with Jesus after our physical bodies died, it ALSO opened up access to the Father while we still walk the earth. Because of Jesus, the most holy place of the sanctuary that was previously reserved for the high priests, was now open for all to enter in.
The inner sanctuary of the temple was where the priests met with the Lord. It was where He manifested His Presence, and only after purification ceremonies could even the priests enter. The Old Testament details the importance of the inner sanctuary in many places of scripture. People who entered who were unclean or who weren’t chosen to enter would die. It was the Most Holy Place.
When Jesus released His Spirit on the cross, at that very moment, the curtain in the inner sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom.
No longer was there a separation between God and man!!!! Jesus became the atonement for all sin past, present, and future! The people have become clean and can now enter the Lord’s Presence because of Jesus and the cleansing blood of His sacrifice. He has cleansed us so that we can enter the inner sanctuary!
I may dig into this a little further this week because it’s a reason to jump up and clap our hands in praise just like today’s verse of the day.
No longer separated. No longer apart. No longer in need of an intercessor besides Jesus! We are connected, in communion, in relationship, able to call on the name of our Lord day and night! Because of Jesus.
Praise be to our magnificent, amazing, Holy Lord who left His seat in Heaven to walk the earth in the constraints of human flesh, who chose to become the perfect sacrifice for a dead and dying people, and then conquered sin and death, and victoriously resurrected because death could not hold the living God. Now we are free. Free to walk in triumphant victory. Free to pray directly to our Lord. Free to walk in daily relationship. The veil has been torn!
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving us beyond our wildest imaginations. Thank You for making a way for us to be able to call on You day and night. Help us to recognize the beauty and magnitude of that gift. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
Blessings to you today!
