Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. Another chance to rise up and be a light.
I have had a whole spectrum of thoughts about this virus that is grabbing the attention of the entire globe. I have been mostly nonchalant about it, almost flippant.
But then I realized that there are people for whom this is a very real threat. People who may not be able to fight off a new strain of respiratory illness easily. People who are already ill or who are battling chronic illnesses. People who work hard everyday to stay healthy, and they need to be cautious and vigilant in avoiding illness. When I paused to think about people I knew in my community and some of my family members who were elderly or already battling something, the gravity of the situation began to sink in.
How would I feel if this affected even one of them? I know two precious young teens who are battling illnesses and every day is a new struggle for their health, this added illness might be devastating for them.
So my attitude is shifting. It is not shifting to fear. It is shifting to the only place I know to turn when I don’t know the answers, Jesus.
He is the calm to every anxious thought.
He is the stillness in the midst of the storm.
He is the gentleness in the wake of adversity.
He is the provision when the store shelves go empty.
He is MORE than enough for us in every trial including this one.
He is the one to turn to in prayer.
Focus on what He has to say instead of the fear being spread on news and social media.
When you find yourself worried about what is happening all around, take a break to talk to the One who can quiet the noise.
When you are out shopping for groceries because the whole town is buying supplies like the stores will never be restocked, be kind, let others go ahead of you, wait patiently in line, relax and pray.
If the store is out of what you went to buy, don’t panic and allow the deception of lack to invade your thoughts. Say, My God is more than enough for me. He will supply all that I need. And move on.
Friends, this is a time for the followers of Christ to rise up as a voice of calming relief for a scared people. Your response to this virus should be markedly different than that of a non believer.
You are covered in the protection of Christ Jesus. Nothing can harm you. No weapon formed against you can prosper. You are marked for the everlasting kingdom of God..
Be cautious, Be empathetic, Be generous, and Let the words you speak be filled with Holy Spirit wisdom and calming.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please bind up every bit of this virus and eradicate it. Heal every person who is affected. Heal their bodies. Strengthen their immune systems. Release us from fear and fill us with wisdom. Let the body of Christ speak with clarity, wisdom, and peace. In Jesus’s name, Amen
Amen, Amen and Amen <3 <3
