Jesus Gives in Abundance!

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh start. A new day to receive from Jesus abundantly MORE than what you are praying for!

The Lord knows you intimately and completely. He knows your need for identity. He knows your name. He knows the hairs on your head. He knows your coming and going. He knows the desires of your heart. Every fear, every hurt, every transgression, every fall, and every rise back up are all known by the Lord.

Jesus came to earth and took on the constraints of human flesh to walk among us. He was fully human and also fully God. As we read how He interacted with His people, we see the heart of the Father on display.

People would come for healing and He would give them so much more. He would address their spiritual needs, their identity, their emotional state, their fears, their faith, their sins, and more depending on each individual needs. So often, He would speak to something other than what they came for first, and THEN He would heal them.

The bleeding woman came for physical healing and walked away being named “His Daughter.” Brand new elevated status! Daughter of the Messiah. No longer sick, dirty, unclean, isolated, or covered in shame. She left His Presence healed, whole, clean, lifted up, worthy, and named His Daughter.

Another example of this is in the healing of a paralyzed man. His friends knew that if they could just get him to Jesus, he would be healed. But, they probably didn’t expect Him to forgive his sins. Imagine for a moment, these friends. They may have been friends for a long time. They may have partied together, hung out together, and they may have known some of the man’s transgressions. They may have even engaged in similar sin patterns. So when Jesus said, “Your sins are forgiven.” They may have even had first hand knowledge of what some of those sins were. Friends often times know our sin issues and what we have done in our past. Long term friends may have been right there with us in our sinful pits sinning right alongside of us.

These friends may have been in awe knowing exactly what kind of life their friend had led. And one word again brings a whole new identity: son.

Jesus calls the man, “Son”. There is no condemnation, no shame, no punishment. Just grace, mercy, compassion, and new identity. “Son!”

Of course that angered the religious leaders. How dare this man forgive sins. At that time, they were still under Old Testament covenant and the religious leaders and priests were the intercessor between God and the people along with the offering of a sacrifice. Then Jesus comes along and with just His spoken words: forgives!

This was but a mere glimpse into the beautiful covenant to come when He gave Himself on the cross and became our only needed mediator between God and His people.

Then, AFTER Jesus deals with the heart of the matter which was the man’s spiritual needs and identity as son, He also heals his physical body.

Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!” Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.
Matthew 9:1‭-‬8 NIV
