Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and be ready to say yes to the Lord even when it may be hard.
A new day to say yes to Jesus even when it costs us something.
A new day to say yes to Jesus even when it’s scary.
A new day to say yes to Jesus even before we know all of the details.
A new day to say yes to Jesus without hesitation.
A new day to say yes to Jesus even when we don’t want to.
A new day to say yes to Jesus even before we have seen anything shift or change in our situation.
Imagine living in a culture that prizes virginity so much that a young girl could be stoned for failure to remain so until her wedding.
Imagine a culture where to be found out as someone who was with a man prior to their marriage would mean no marriage ever, and no marriage would mean a lifetime of shame.
A woman who wasn’t a virgin wouldn’t be someone whom would be sought after for marriage. She would remain in her father’s house under his care and then eventually be under the care of a brother or other relative.
And to have a child out of wedlock would mean both her and the child would surely live a lifetime of shame and hardship.
Now imagine yourself being a young girl who loves God, and follows the commands and teachings that you have been taught. You are engaged to a kind man and a wedding would be taking place between the two of you.
Your life is in forward motion and unfolding just as it is supposed to.
And then….. you have a face to face encounter with the heavenlies and you are told that you would be bearing a child from God and life would never ever be the same.
Your walk with God would be marked by mountaintop miracles unfolding inside of you and in front of you as well walking through valleys of deep public shame.
Your walk with God would include town gossip, the near break off of your engagement, and the searing judgement of relatives and friends who never quite believe your story.
Your walk with God would be so close, so personal that He chose to reside inside of your womb!
Your walk with God began with your faithfulness to the Word and the humility of your heart and then exploded into a full adventure when the angel Gabriel brought you the wildest of news!
The angel Gabriel appeared and explained that God sees you and you have found favor in His eyes! You will be giving birth to a king whose kingdom shall have no end! He has already been named by the Lord. He is to be called Jesus and He will come forth by a miracle of the Holy Spirit and an act of submission and obedience on your part!
Friends, the angel brings the news, but there was an action necessary on Mary’s part. Mary had to say yes to receive the incarnation of the Living God who would come to the earth fully man and fully God!
Mary incredulously asks how it will happen to her since she hasn’t known a man yet.
She doesn’t question whether or not it will happen, but with wide open eyes and childlike wonder she asks, “How will this happen to me?”
And the angel explains….
And then her sweet, beautiful response is a wholehearted yes to Jesus!
With that brave statement Mary is saying so much more!
Yes Lord, you may come and turn my whole earthly life upside down as you take up residence in my womb.
Yes Lord, I will serve you and say yes to you even if it means I may lose everything I hold dear to me.
Yes Lord, even if everyone speaks poorly of me and I have trouble holding my head up high.
Yes Lord, I recieve you fully and without questioning your plans for my life.
Yes Lord, I recieve all just as You have willed it!
Yes, Lord, yes!
Mary just simply says yes!
She doesn’t say… but what will happen to me after, what about all the consequences, what will I tell Joseph or my parents or my friends?
After her first incredulous question of how it will be possible, then she just accepts the answer Gabriel gives that it will be from God, and she says yes! No other questions asked!
Oh how I would love to have trust, submission, and obedience like Mary! No wonder the Lord chose her. Her response wasn’t self focused at all! It was God focused. She accepted His will for her life without a single utterance about how this would change her plans for her life!
As we say yes to the Lord, His plans unfold in the most glorious of ways! He is able to dwell on the inside of us just as He grew inside of Mary. He is able to work on us and inside of us and through us!Dear Heavenly Father,
We so desire to have such sweet, childlike faith as Mary’s to just accept what You tell us and to say yes so wholeheartedly. Just as Mary gave up many earthly things to receive Heavenly promises, may we also have enough faith to release that which we hold dear to receive all that You have for us.Let our hearts be ready to receive supernatural messages from You and our hands and feet be ready to move at Your direction.
In Jesus’s name, Amen..
Blessings and divine encounters!

Scriptures from Luke 1: 26-38.
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus . He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
