Yep! I am!

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and believe every single word that God has spoken over you!

I was on a walk with my littles yesterday, and my daughter kept stopping and picking up the most random objects.

She picked up a rock, a screen door latch, and then a small square block of granite. I said to her, “Nia, you are a treasure hunter! You find the best treasures!”

She lit up with excitement and yelled to her brother, “Hey Bentley, mom said that I am a treasure hunter!” The joy in her eyes and her voice when I affirmed her was precious.

Then, later in the afternoon, we were back at home and I told her, “Nia, I love you so much. You are so loved.” She puffed out her little chest and so matter of factly said, “Yep. I am!”

Her agreement with what I spoke over her is powerful. She has allowed the truth of my words to become truth in her mind and in her heart. And she walks with the security of my love for her, and she also feels validated when using her gifts and talents like “treasure hunting.”

All of this has my mind swirling with the parallels for how God desires us to recieve fully and completely the TRUTH of what He says about us.

That if we can read His Word and stand up tall amidst a dark world and say, “Yep, I am!” How much differently and more confidently could we face every encounter?

And then we can take that truth one step further and tell everyone just like Nia yelled, “Hey Bentley! Mom said I’m a treasure hunter!”

We can tell our friends and our family. We can tell every dark and defeating thought. “Hey Guess what God says about me?!

He said I’m saved, redeemed, set free, wonderfully created on purpose, and here with divine assignment!”

Wow! What a difference when we walk and talk as a son or daughter of the King of the Universe!

Did you know that God so lovingly sings over you and celebrates you! Zephaniah 3:17 tells us that God is celebrating you and singing over you with shouts of joy! Will you just pause amidst this fast paced busy world and imagine the Father jumping up and down and singing at the sight of you! He loves you with such a zealous, immense love that He doesn hold back or contain it. He is filled with the pride of a Papa and He looks at you and beholds you with love! I challenge you to meditate on that truth and try to imagine it right now. Your Papa who designed your every feature is right now cheering you on from heaven!!

Is any part of that uncomfortable for you? Are you unsure if it’s true? Unsure if that promise is really for you? Maybe it is for every other believer, but not for you? So many of us struggle with these inner doubts.

Have you ever told your daughter how beautiful she was and she shrugged you off? Have you ever told her that she was strong and capable and able to accomplish the task set before her? Has she looked at you like she didn’t really believe a word of it?

What happens when your child does believe the truth and partners with it? What happens when your child opens up their heart and mind and lets your words sink in and they choose to believe what you are telling them instead of believing their feelings in the moment?

They are filled with the truth and better able to face the struggle in front of them. The situation hasn’t changed yet, but their mindset is now partnered with the truth that they are worthy, beautiful, strong, capable, and equipped.

How much more powerful are your words of affirmation over your son or daughter when they receive them and believe them?!

The same applies here! His Word is true and it is for YOU!

Imagine a conversation between you and the Father where He speaks His Word over you and you say, “Yep, I am!”

God says, “You are created in my image.”

And you can walk firmly and strongly and say, “Yep, I am in the image of my Papa!”

God says, “You are fearfully and wonderfully made! I pre-planned you at the foundation of the earth.”

And you can walk firmly and strongly and say, “Yep, I was planned, chosen, and crafted on purpose!”

God says, “I am your refuge, your fortress, a place that you can trust and rest.”

And you can walk firmly and strongly and say, “Yep, I am able to rest in His arms.”

God says, “I have good plans for you. Plans for your future that are good. I don’t have have any plans to harm you at all. You can trust me.”

And you can walk firmly and strongly and say, “Yep, I am trusting in my good God designed future ahead!”

God says, “I love you so much that I sent my son Jesus so that you wouldn’t perish, but would live forever with Me.”

And you can walk firmly and strongly and say, “Yep, I am loved by the Lord and when I believe in Jesus, I know my eternity is secure.”

God says, “I didn’t give you a spirit of fear. I gave you a sound mind and self discipline so that you can take captive every scary thought and be in peace instead of living with fear.”

And you can walk firmly and strongly and say, “Yep, I am going to choose faith over fear again and again. I will not partner with fearful thoughts, but instead test every thought against the truth of what GOD says about me.”

Friends, this is just a drop in the bucket of beautiful truths found in scripture. God loves you. He is for you. And when we choose to agree with Him, we can scale mountains, push past any obstacle, and walk right through stormy seas.

Choose His truth again and again and again. His truth is life changing!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help us to believe You! Let us stop resisting the total and complete truth of what You say about us just because our feelings tell us otherwise. Strengthen our spirits and our minds to fully partner with every Word You’ve spoken over us. Give us full revelation of who we are in Christ Jesus! Lord, release us from fear and guide us to partner with the truth. Help us to relate to You as Papa, Daddy. You demonstrated that we could come to You as our good, good Father. Help us to take You at Your Word.

In Jesus’s Name, Amen.

Blessings and the Truth of His Word over You today!

  1. Beautiful!!! I’ve missed your encouragement but what great timing!! I literally had to break from reading your post, go read Zephaniah chapter 3 and then come back to your post! So good and so heart-fulfilling.
I’m wowed that you also referenced 2 Timothy 1:7 (we’re not given a spirit of fear but of power, love, and sound mind). I’ve been motivated by that word ‘sound mind’ lately as I just studied it on Easter and remembering that I don’t need to fear!!
Love this “yep, I am” mindset as we soak in God’s affirmations. Great post to start my Saturday morning!
Hope you are well my sweet friend!!❤️

    1. I love God’s timing! He is so intentional and also affirming of His children..I love how He also confirms by saying the same thing to us multiple times! 🙂 Happy Saturday Alicia!! 🙂

  2. This is powerful, Vanessa. I had to go back over it a second time because first time my mind nodded its way through and I realised that my heart hadn’t believed a word of it! Thank you. Blessings to you and lovely Nia.
