Son, Do you trust me?

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and move in the direction of Jesus.

He has so so much for us! He wants to guide us in paths of righteousness that lead to abundant life.

He wants to show us how immensely He loves us.

He wants to anoint us with His Power.

And because He’s God, and we are not, sometimes He will ask us to follow commands that we don’t fully understand.

Sometimes we are asked to believe scriptures that don’t fully make sense to us.

Often His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts Higher than our thoughts.

Why?

Simple Answer, He is Lord and we are not. This is a continual revelation that we as humans must continually remind ourselves of, so that we can walk in submission even when we don’t understand.

He knows things that we don’t. He knows all past, present, future, and each person’s mind and motives. He hears conversations we will never have knowledge about.

He is everywhere all at once while we are limited to one place.

He is all powerful, and while we do walk in the authority and power of Christ, we are still limited compared to Our Creator.

He is God, we are not.

That is so so comforting to ME!

I can come under His protection and His guidance and His care and follow His commands like a child would lean on and trust their parent.

I had a revelation of this kind of blind trust as I was parenting my son from childhood into the beginning of his teen years.

My son whom had previously accepted every word and direction from me very easily and with almost no question began to question everything I told him.

He looked around at the lives of his friends and what they were doing and back at our life and the two looked nothing alike. He was conflicted and wanted to head in directions counter to the calling and destiny on His life to live fully committed to the Lord.

And suddenly everything came under question. He wanted to head into some paths that I knew would be unsafe for him.

We had alot of heart to heart conversations and I distinctly remember at one point I came into his room late at night and sat next his bed and simply asked him, “Son, do you trust me?”

“Do you trust that I desire to protect you, to guide you, and that my intentions are for you and never against you?”

And as he admitted that yes he trusted me, I asked him to trust my rules and to trust my guidance. That when I ask him to do things and not to do other things, he can just trust that they are for his good and never to harm him.

Following the Lord is the same. He will give us directions that don’t always make sense to us. Our Christian walk is much like that of a child growing up with a Father. We get saved and blindly trust every Word of God, and then we dig in and start reading the Bible. There are parts that don’t make sense. There are parts that seem unfair and counter to the culture around us. There are parts that even appear mean and opposite of God’s love.

But if we continue in faith and trust and keep reading and keep praying for revelation, we see that even the parts that are hard to understand have divine purpose.

As we walk in faith with Jesus, we see that His ways really are the BEST ways. That everything He asks us to stay away from is not to keep us FROM things as much as it is to preserve us FOR the things He wants to give us.

Anything He asks you to lay down comes with a much larger reward than what you lay down. And many of the Lord’s rewards cannot be obtained anywhere else, but in Him.

Think peace in all circumstances and overflowing joy and of course the promise of eternal life!

Every counterfeit from satan that you turn down, God has the original and pure form available for you.

And then as we really grow up in faith, we see the Great Commission and again we question God…

Surely You didn’t really mean to cast out demons? Surely You don’t really expect me to lay hands on the sick and expect them to be healed? Surely You didn’t mean to preach the gospel everywhere I go?

And there is God saying, “Do you trust Me? When I gave you that commission, I also gave you POWER to do it!”

So friends, this life of following Jesus can be confusing at times. Often we are called to do things that pre-believers would think are crazy. We are also called to avoid things that the world believes is just normal living.

Our truth as followers of Christ is found in His Word both the written Word and Rahma Words that He speaks now. They must line up. He won’t call you to do anything counter His Written Word.

And sometimes you won’t understand. When that happens go to the Father in prayer. Ask Him all the hard questions. Ask Him to reveal to your spirit what His Word means and how it applies to the difficulty you are currently facing.

As we seek to reconcile things that cause strong emotiona like abortion, same sex relationships, whether or not speaking in tongues is for now, whether or not Christians are called to cast out demons, and other hot topics in culture and in the church…. I encourage you to take these things to the Father DIRECTLY. You don’t need the answers from social media, from your pastor, or from your friends.

Get alone with God in the secret place with an open heart that really wants to hear and ask Him the hard questions. Be prepared for His honest response. And if what He tells you is different than what you expected, He may be asking you, “Child, will you just trust Me on this one?”

Dear Heavenly Father,

Life is hard. Culture is confusing. Life experiences try to sway me from faith in Your Word to faith in what I see. LORD, I cry out for the gift of faith to believe Your every Word even when it’s counter what the world believes. Lord, give me a fiery faith that prevails even if I have to stand all alone pleasing only You. Lord, I need Your strength and Your power to withstand what feels like the last days. LORD, Give me steadfast eyes to lock eyes with Jesus and walk on water even during the stormiest of days. Lord, I trust You as my Father and what You say goes even beyond my limited comprehension. I will preach a pure gospel untainted by people pleasing. Wherever I am believing a lie or a deception, reveal it to me so that I can repent and come into proper alignment with You and Your Word. I trust You Lord, and yet I know there’s room for me to grow in even deeper trust. Lord, here I am all for You.

In Jesus’s Name, Amen.

Blessings and increased trust in the Father,

Vanessa Lynn

And if you came across this post and you haven’t yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, may I encourage you that by choosing Him you receive eternal life in heaven, BUT ALSO abundant life NOW. Following Him is the most precious adventure you have ever taken!! All you have to do to get started is to pray and receive Him as Lord. The Bible says to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe with your heart the precious gospel message that Jesus taught. Repent of your sins which means simply to ask Jesus to forgive you and then choose to walk away from them and go in the New Direction that God is calling you to. Confess or speak that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for you, that He was resurrected from the dead, and ascended to heaven. And that you recieve Him as your Lord and Savior. That you are sorry for your sins and you recieve His FULL and complete forgiveness for every wrong you’ve ever committed. And that you are choosing to follow Him now and leave the ways of the world behind for the things of Jesus!!! And if you mean that with your heart, you are saved and set free to live a new life free of sin! The Bible says you are now a brand new creation! Old things have passed away and new things have come!!! The Bible also says that all of heaven rejoices whenever a person is saved!!!! Just imagine the party being held in heaven on your behalf right now!!!

  1. This…”Every counterfeit from satan that you turn down, God has the original and pure form available for you….”

I don’t even have the words for how I feel right now…all I know is that the Holy Spirit will see me through the emotional upheaval that will be my constant companion for the next few days.

    1. Vanessa, Holy Spirit spoke straight through you into my heart to encourage me to do what I believe He has asked of me. I needed to hear this. Yes, Father, I trust You. Blessings on your boy and all of your family, lovely lady. Wanted to share it on, but again not sure how to.

      1. Hallelujah! God is so amazing like that! May He strengthen you for what He has asked you to do. May He be glorified and may your faith grow in deeper measure as you step out of the boat and walk in the miraculous!

  2. Vanessa, what you wrote about reading the Bible reminds me so much of how Christian life works:

“There are parts that don’t make sense. There are parts that seem unfair and counter to the culture around us. There are parts that even appear mean and opposite of God’s love.
But if we continue in faith and trust and keep reading and keep praying for revelation, we see that even the parts that are hard to understand have divine purpose.

Love your encouragement and I screenshot your prayer as it is spot on with my heart’s cry.❤️
