Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and look to Jesus for all you need.
He really has every drop of provision for you.
In Him, you lack nothing.
As you seek Him and go after Him, you will find Him.
As you seek the Lord first and foremost and make Him your greatest pursuit, all else that you need will be supplied.
It’s a mystery, but it’s truth. The Lord promises to provide all we need when we seek Him and His kingdom as our first love.
And what I am learning about God both through His Word and through experience by being in relationship with Him, is that He delivers a much much higher and better provision than I could ever dream up or pray for.
My prayers are often for the temporary desires of this earth while God desires to give me spiritual blessings and eternal treasures that no one can take from me.
God wants to infuse you with a joy the world can’t touch.
He wants to deposit a faith that storms can’t shake.
He wants to give you a covering of peace that is impenetrable by the enemy.
And, He wants to pour His Holy Spirit into you with a baptism of the Holy Spirit in a NEW way so that you would walk in POWER.
And THIS was the long awaited promise that the disciples were praying for in the upper room on Pentacost. But they had no idea what it would look like, what it would be, how God was going to move next. All they knew was to wait on the promise.
And then it came! Wind, Fire, and a new level of God’s Power deposited and ignited right inside of His people. He marked them again! He distinguished them from other people again!
In the Old Testament, He did this with circumcision and the law. In the New Testament, we see Him mark His people with His very own Spirit!

And they had no idea what this was. What was happening? Is this God? Is it something else?

They needed someone to have revelation to explain it. They needed someone to recognize the MOVE! And here comes a BRAND NEW Peter!!!! He is now filled with both wisdom and power. He has learned from his previous mistakes of denying Jesus in fear of the crowd AND he has now been filled with the Spirit of the Lord Himself. He has the full baptism of the Holy Spirit and he gets up before a crowd of devout Jews. These Jews knew the law. They knew the scriptures. And Peter, a fisherman, who was not a previous religious leader or teacher of the law, stands up before the crowds and preaches a completely correct, scripturally backed sermon that explains “Hey this thing we are experiencing, it is exactly what God promised all the way back through the prophet Joel!”
These people are not drunk, as some of you are assuming. Nine o’clock in the morning is much too early for that. No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel: ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike— and they will prophesy.
Acts of the Apostles 2:15-18 NLT
Peter’s sermon was like, “Hey! This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for!!!!”
He recognized the movement of God even though it looked nothing like what he had been praying for!!

Will you recognize God sized movement in your life when it doesn’t look exactly like how you’ve been picturing it to look?
Peter and the disciples were praying for the restoration of Israel with a new King. They were praying for Jesus to return and be crowned King and set them free.
They were not praying for tongues of fire and new Holy Languages! But that’s what God gave them and it’s exactly what they needed to carry out the call on their life.
We see an instantaneous change in Peter once he is filled with the Spirit of the Lord. A new level of boldness, a new level of faith, fears are replaced with a fire to preach the truth!
These are the types of Moves of God that we can position ourselves for!
Moves where all worry dissolves and only peace remains.
Moves where divine healing occurs in us or someone we are praying for.
Moves where suddenly God shows up in power and we are left speechless.
Moves where we realize how active and at work He is right here and right now.
Moves that make demons literally flee from our lives and the old struggles and cycles are completely gone and even the desire to sin leaves you.
Moves that we know that we know we visited with our Lord up close and personally.
These moves are miracles and available to us. He is not a distant far off Father. He is an up close and personal Father who wants to free you, release you, and then fill you with things the world can never ever give you.
But if we have a mindset of what our answered prayers must look like, we may miss the miraculous and supernatural things that God wants to pour into our surrendered and open spirits.
And as you wait, pray for discernment that you would recognize the move when it comes and that you wouldn’t fall for satan’s counterfeit. As you wait, satan will often offer a cheap, easy counterfeit to a real move from God.
Stay so so close to Jesus that you’ll discern this and be able to continue in loyalty and without compromise AND get ready for God to respond to your surrendered, humble heart that is staying steadfast even before the breakthrough.
In the closeness and intimacy with the Father through reading of the Word and daily conversation with the Lord, you will be strengthening your spiritual eyes to look past the natural and see like Peter did. He was able to look beyond what appeared to everyone else like drunkenness and nonsense and see GOD AT WORK.
The men who had studied the scriptures alone missed it! They thought it was something else, but Peter had something NEW they didn’t. He had the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He had Holy Power and also discernment now! When Peter stood up and delivered that message, the Lord Himself was preaching through Peter! Peter had the GIFT, the inheritance, the promise Jesus has been speaking about!
And again, we can follow Peter’s example here to discern what God is doing in our lives.
1. Stay steadfast– continuing on in the place that Jesus has assigned you.
2. Be in close relationship with the Lord- Continue in prayer often, earnestly seeking and spending time with Him. Be so close to the Promise Giver that you’ll quickly spot any counterfeit offers from the enemy.
3. Welcome the Baptism of the Holy Spirit! Ask the Lord for a fresh fill of His Holy Spirit. Ask Him to equip you with His Holy Power and discernment. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your steps, to guide your tongue, to reveal the truth to you that God wants you to know.
4. Be open to the supernatural movement of God! So often we pray for miracles, signs, and wonders, but are we really ready for them? Are we okay with the discomfort that comes with the vulnerability of not being able to explain what God just did? Are we giving space and room in our lives to receive supernatural things of God?
I have so much to share about the baptism of the Holy Spirit including my FULL testimony about my experience. I will write that post up soon!! Friends, Jesus has SO much to pour into you!! So much more! Wherever you are in your walk, there’s always MORE available!
Dear Heavenly Father,
We are waiting on You. We are trusting You. You are the One who started us on this Faith Journey and we know You will be faithful to complete it. We trust You fully and completely. Lord, give us Holy discernment to recognize when You are moving in our lives. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we have the full equipping of discernment and what is needed to withstand difficult seasons. Lord, keep us safe from falling prey to satan’s offer of a counterfeit destiny that is not at all what You have planned. Keep us safe in the hour of waiting. Keep us pure. Keep us steadfast and strengthen our spiritual senses so that we learn to see past the earthly circumstances and right into the spiritual realm. From the spiritual realm we can battle and wage war with every weapon You’ve given us! Thank You Lord for the promises You’ve spoken over our lives. Help us to recognize them when they come to pass. Let us NOT miss a single thing You are up to especially when it looks different than expected. We trust You and we trust every gift You give is good and everytime You move, it is goood!
In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
Blessings and Discernment,
Vanessa Lynn

And if you came across this post and you haven’t yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, may I encourage you that by choosing Him you receive eternal life in heaven, BUT ALSO abundant life NOW. Following Him is the most precious adventure you have ever taken!! All you have to do to get started is to pray and receive Him as Lord. The Bible says to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe with your heart the precious gospel message that Jesus taught. Repent of your sins which means simply to ask Jesus to forgive you and then choose to walk away from them and go in the New Direction that God is calling you to. Confess or speak that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for you, that He was resurrected from the dead, and ascended to heaven. And that you recieve Him as your Lord and Savior. That you are sorry for your sins and you recieve His FULL and complete forgiveness for every wrong you’ve ever committed. And that you are choosing to follow Him now and leave the ways of the world behind for the things of Jesus!!! And if you mean that with your heart, you are saved and set free to live a new life free of sin! The Bible says you are now a brand new creation! Old things have passed away and new things have come!!! The Bible also says that all of heaven rejoices whenever a person is saved!!!! Just imagine the party being held in heaven on your behalf right now!!
So good!! I’m reminded God is always in control but we must trust His perfect timing…not looking ahead or behind but trusting Him in this very moment we’re living in!! We’re so blessed to have the Holy Spirit within us, may we obediently recognize and trust God’s ways and His plans.
