Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and move with courage and boldness into the promises of God.
Are you carrying a promise in your spirit?
Has God placed a dream or vision in your belly that seems so oversized that it would take a supernatural move to make it happen?
Does the promise seem impossible based on current circumstances?
Will it take great faith to move ahead in the promise?
This seems to be a pattern that the Lord has for His anointed!
Large, God sized Promised Lands that are accessible ONLY by trusting in God alone.
God sets this pattern up right in the early pages of the Bible. He first speaks a promise to Abraham. The promise is spoken to a man that has no children. God tells him that he is going to make his descendants into a vast, strong nation that will occupy the land of Canaan.

When reading the Bible, you may breeze right over this promise without much thought. But if you pause and meditate on it, you may notice some major problems in the natural. Abraham has no children AND the land of Canaan is ALREADY occupied by fortified towns and strong armies.
So two big problems that make the promise seem impossible! God is telling Abraham that He will have more descendants than sand AND they will have land that is currently occupied by other nations.
Yet Abraham, being named the Father of our Faith, begins to make decisions and move just as if those 2 big roadblocks don’t even exist. He just hears the Word of the Lord and accepts it. God says that his belief was credited to him as righteousness. We know from other parts of Abraham’s life that he did fall and mess up at times, but based on his great faith and willingness to move like he had FULL access to the promise EVEN BEFORE he had a son or the land, the Lord named him righteous!!
And God’s promises sometimes take longer than expected…. the full promise didn’t happen in Abraham’s lifetime. He did have the promised child, Isaac. But he didn’t move into the promised land.
So the promise was repeated to Isaac!

God’s Promises are for YOU and YOUR children and children’s children!
The promise gets repeated AGAIN to Isaac’s son Jacob!

Fast forward through all kinds of demonic assignments meant to steal the promise of God from Abraham’s descendents. Isaac’s son Jacob has 12 sons and ten of them sell Joseph, their brother, into slavery. Then, there’s famine, there’s a relocation of the whole family to Egypt, and then over the next few generations the entire family line of Abraham which has grown quite large in population is forced to become slaves in the land of Egypt that once welcomed them as honored guests.
It appears that the promise has DIED! The nation that is supposed to possess Canaan as a great and powerful nation under God is now living as slaves under the Egyptians.
But God hasn’t forgotten!
And He hasn’t forgotten you either.
He chooses, protects, and equips Moses and through supernatural plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, supernatural provision of bread, meat, and water in the desert, and the visual glory cloud for them to follow, the promise is SO close to being given as the Israelites come to the promised Land!
Here they are! Descendants of all 12 tribes of Jacob led by Moses and Aaron are FINALLY at the edge of Canaan. The Land is all theirs for the taking. They have God in their side. They have seen miracle after miracle after miracle after miracle!!!! You would think they would be like, “Let’s Go!”
But instead they allow fear to blind them and they close their hands to what God so desires to give them.
God tells Moses to choose one man from each tribe to go scout out the land He is giving to them. God intended to give them the land now! They just had to access it by trusting fully in the what God could do and what He was promising to do.
“Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a leader among them.”
Numbers 13:2 NKJV
12 men go, and 10 of them see the land through eyes of flesh. And only 2 see the land through spiritual eyes.
10 men tremble in fear and report back to the Israelites how scary the land is! The land is filled with giants! Huge men that make us look like grasshoppers!
But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
Numbers 13:31-33 NKJV
How could they so quickly forget that no matter how large the enemy looked, they served God Almighty who had already revealed His Mighty Power to them over and over and over again?! They were so quick to forget. (And so are we..)
And the real problem arose when the 10 men carried the spirit of fear back to the people and fear seized them. They grumbled and started to groan that they wanted to flee back to Egypt and be enslaved again!
BUT……Two of the 12 men had gone on the SAME expedition, saw all the same things, experienced the same terrain, the same giants, and the same fortified cities.
But these TWO MEN didn’t focus on the giants, they only saw the goodness of the land and how BIG their God was!
THEY saw with spiritual eyes and focused on the promise. They didn’t focus on the hindrances to the promise. They just figured a good God who brought them this far would handle the giants.
Caleb and Joshua spoke up and said to the people, the land is gooooood and God is giving it to us. LET’S GO IN!
and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”
Numbers 14:7-9 NKJV
Unfortunately for the Israelites, they wouldn’t listen. They continued to partner with fear and refused to enter the land. And the results for them was delay of promise.
God wanted to give it to them NOW!! The waiting period was over. The exodus had taken place and the promise given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was a NOW promise ready to be fulfilled. But fear stole it from that generation!
When they refused to enter, they got sent back to the wilderness to wander for 40 years.
And later, God mercifully gives Israel another chance to enter, but only after that generation passed away. The people who enter 40 years later are the children led by guess who?! The two spies who had a goood report! CALEB AND JOSHUA who saw with spiritual eyes FINALLY got to lead the Israelites into Canaan.
But how much sweeter would the promise have been if received when God wanted to give it.
Is this a NOW moment for you?
Has God been equipping you and preparing you for something God sized?
Is it time to move ahead in faith casting your eyes away from the giants and instead onto the fruit of the land?
If the Israelites would have simply remembered all the previous mighty moves of God, they would have been able to trust God’s Word over the giants in front of their eyes.
As you move ahead in the next season of promise, pause to remember the miracles of old that God has done in your life and feast your eyes on the big clusters of grapes ahead!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us O Lord! Help us to see fruit and the greatness of God instead of giants up ahead. Let us rest fully in WHO You ARE and the Promise of Your Word over our life. Remind us that we are Your chosen people destined for great purpose in the earth walking in the fullness of the authority of Christ. Remove all demonic doubt from us and cancel every enemy assignment that is warring after our promised lands. Give us spiritual eyes that feast on You and Your mighty power and give us a strong faith to just follow You wherever you lead. Make us like children who just go in full obedience with no questions or doubting.
In Jesus’s Name,
Amen.
Blessings as you possess the Promised Land,
Vanessa Lynn

My second time this morning reading a post over the Israelites stubbornness and ultimate hindering of God’s desire to bring blessing. No denying that He’s reminding me to trust Him with my very own fear and doubt.
Good, timely post.❤️
