Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start! All things are becoming new!
In Luke 5, Jesus shows us that we are not called to do ministry alone.
Jesus, being the Lord Himself, surely could have handled ministry by Himself. But that’s not God’s plans. He involves people is His work. It’s a beautiful invitation and it’s God’s way!
We are not called to do life alone. He was already preaching some even before He called His disciples because He asks Peter if He can use his boat to preach from. So He had already started alone, but then called men to join Him!
The way He calls Peter teaches us so much!
Peter is done for the day. He is washing his nets. No fish..They’ve fished all night and caught nothing. So Jesus borrows the boat to climb in and teach from!
As Jesus wraps up the message, He sends Peter out to deeper water to cast again. Peter sees no point. It’s been a disappointing night of fishing. Why get his hopes up again? What will a little deeper water do? Some accounts have Jesus telling Peter to cast on the other side of the boat.
But does Jesus realize they’ve caught nothing after casting ALL night. How can two minor changes such as deeper and simply trying the other side of the boat bring in fish?
In obedience to Jesus, not really expecting a miracle or breakthrough, Peter obeys. Side note, Peter had already washed his net. He was done! Wrapped up, ready to go HOME. He had only stuck around after a long night of catching nothing because Jesus was in his boat preaching a sermon.
Peter takes the boat out DEEPER. Peter casts again. Slightly different this time. He’s casting with Jesus and following Jesus’s directions to do things just slightly different. Small, seemingly insignificant changes birthed from a posture of OBEDIENCE.
You’ve hit a place where you’ve fished all night.
You’ve casted to no avail.
In the natural, you’re tired. Emotionally and Spiritually, you may feel weak too!
And you’ve pretty much given up on that miracle. So much so, that like Peter, you’ve taken steps to move on without your breakthrough. Peter washed his nets. You’ve also made some steps to show you’re ready to be done.
Jesus has stepped on the scene now and He is asking you to go even deeper. Leave the safety of shallow land where you don’t have to fully commit and you can leave the water at any time.
No push deeper for your breakthrough! Go all in for Jesus this time.
You’ve been holding back.
Afraid of being let down again.
Afraid to pull that net up empty all over again.
You don’t see the point in even trying.
Be obedient like Peter. He pushed the boat farther and cast the net on the other side simply because…. Jesus said to!
Obedience is a huge key to unlocking breakthrough, being positioned for miracles, and postured for God given destiny to unfold.
We obey not because it makes sense, but because we trust the One giving the directions.

Peter casts again and you should too.
He pulls in a miraculous catch of fish and then literally EVERYTHING changes. He leaves fishing behind for a life of following Jesus. Nothing will ever be quite the same again.
Jesus calls 12 men to follow Him. Right after the miracle, Peter repents for being a sinful man. Jesus invites Peter to follow Him. Peter’s small obedience in regards to fishing leads to a greater invitation to something brand new! He will leave literal fishing behind to “fish for men” And he goes!

After that, Jesus calls Matthew. Matthew goes immediately when Jesus says to Follow Him. These men are leaving comfort, routine, and life as they know it to step into completely unknown destiny. And wow do they receive from Jesus!
They get inside revelation, they become eyewitnesses to miracle after miracle, and they get trained up to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit with authority and permission to move in the earth just like Jesus!
They said yes to Him. A radical leave it all behind yes.
Will you say yes to Him today? A radical leave it all behind yes?
The type of yes that gives you courage and boldness to walk obediently forward doing many things in a new way!
Jesus chooses people! He did then and He does now.

He’s choosing you for MORE today. Radical obedience, a radical yes, will lead to a radical revival that starts in you and then moves through you!
Dear Heavenly Father,
We say YES today. Yes to You. Yes to the call. Yes to enter deeper water. Yes to moving in new ways. Yes to casting in a new way or in a new direction. We’re leaving the safety of the shallow water and waist deep water. We are going deeeeeper to where the miracle is waiting!
In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
Blessings and a Radical yes!
