The Power of Thoughts

Proverbs 23:7 – “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. ‘Eat and drink!’ he says to you, but his heart is not with you.”

Philippians 4:8 – “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”


God Knows Our Thoughts

Jeremiah 17:10 – “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”

Hebrews 4:12 – “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Psalm 139:2 – “You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.”


Guarding Our Thoughts

Romans 12:2 – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

2 Corinthians 10:5 – “Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

Isaiah 26:3 – “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”


The Connection Between Thoughts and Actions

Matthew 15:18-19 – “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”

James 1:8 – “He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

Proverbs 4:23 – “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”
