Good Afternoon Child of the Most High God,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. And as you walk with Jesus, you’re being made NEW.
About once a month, I take my books and faith based apparel to the marketplace. I sell at festivals and local craft fairs.
And each time I go, one particular piece of apparel stirs up controversy.
It makes people walk by and mock me, snicker, and even say rude things to me.
This weekend I had a craft event, and I had a gentleman come into my booth and at first he seemed kind and interested in what I sell. After about 5 minutes, his tone shifted to one of debate and interrogation. He began to speak against Jesus and His deity. He began to speak against His role as Messiah..and I stopped him. I began to pray for him even as he was speaking. And he just got louder and more intense with his falsehoods about Jesus.. so I asked him to leave multiple times. He continued and didn’t leave right away. I pointed to my very Controversial shirts and said, “It’s pretty clear why I’m here and the message I carry. I pray that your eyes are opened and you receive the fullness of Christ. It was nice to meet you, but you must leave now. ”
Just a few minutes later, three women walked by and called me extreme. I didn’t say a word to them…. they simply saw my Controversial item and said, “You could love Jesus, but not be so extreme.” They laughed and said some people take it too far.
Here’s a picture of my super Controversial item that triggered several people this weekend!
God is good though because shortly afterwards several people came by and LOVED my items, shared their testimonies with me, and thanked me for bringing Jesus to the marketplace!
Here’s the truth.
Jesus is not a way to eternal life. He is THE way. The ONLY way.
He is the Lord Himself who left His seat on HIGH to come to humanity and walk and talk with us just like He had in the garden of Eden. He is the invisible God made visible. JESUS said, “If you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father.”
You CANNOT have God without Jesus. You just can’t. JESUS is the fulfillment of all the scriptures, the law and the prophets. All of the Old Testament points to Jesus and He is revealed in the New Testament.
He is the reason I am saved, set free, healed, delivered, and in my right mind.
He is the reason for everything I do.
He is the breath in my lungs.
He is the One who set my feet on Solid Ground.
And He is the way, the truth, and the life. 🙂
Here are 17 verses about Jesus being the way to salvation. I encourage you to study these and know them, so that you can spot falsehood the moment you hear it.
When learning to spot a counterfeit bill, people study the REAL currency. This allows them to spot a fake quickly.
It’s the same with spotting false doctrine. The MORE you study the scriptures and read and re-read the Bible, you will immediately discern when someone says something “off”.
And you will not be swayed by smooth sounding words, but you will know the truth..
Jesus Christ is not a way. He is the ONLY way.
1. John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
2. Acts 4:12 – Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
3. 1 Timothy 2:5 – For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.
4. John 10:9 – I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
5. Romans 5:1-2 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
6. 1 John 5:11-12 – And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
7. Colossians 1:19-20 – For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
8. John 3:16-18 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
9. John 3:36 – He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
10. John 8:24 – Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.
11. John 11:25-26 – Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
12. Matthew 7:13-14 – Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
13. Hebrews 7:25 – Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
14. Romans 10:9-10 – That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
15. 1 John 2:23 – Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
16. Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
17. Titus 3:5-6 – Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Make us strong in our foundation. When we encounter falsehood, may Your Word come bubbling up and out like a spring of living water ready to give a drink to those who need it. Lord, equip us and empower us to evangelize the people we encounter. May we share Jesus with boldness and LOVE. In Jesus’s Name, Amen..
Blessings and boldness for Christ!
Vanessa Lynn
