Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh start. A new day to rise and seek Jesus. He’s entrusted to us another day. Another day to walk out the purpose He’s placed on your life. Another day to use the power He’s placed on the inside of you for bringing heaven’s power down to earth through your prayers. Another day to spread His love with the people that you encounter. Another day to cherish and celebrate as a gift from a good, good Father.

It’s also another day to seek Him through His Word. A new chance to get to know Him through the reading of the most beautiful love story ever written. This very day is a new opportunity to read the sacred text that the Lord has gifted to us so that He can speak to us. It’s the story of His redemption of mankind and it’s the story of the beginning of the earth all the way to the end. It tells us what happened before us and what is yet to come. It is alive and everytime you read it, God has something new to tell you.

Daily Bible Reading is food for the believer. It will nourish your soul. It will calm your fears, quench your thirst, and fill you up to overflow with the truth of how much God loves you.

When satan tempted Jesus, the first response that Jesus used to rebuke him were these words, “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God”

Then Jesus continues to win the battle against satan by quoting the truth of scripture. And that is exactly how we will win our battles too. We will win our battles by the power of God’s Word alive and active in our hearts and minds.

If you would like to join me in reading the bible this year, I am reading it in a new way. I am using the youversion bible app to read it ordered as it happened. This particular plan spaces it out so that you will finish the whole bible in one year. It is set up so that you read it in chronological order as it happened in history. It’s a fresh new way to read the bible. I’ve never read it in this order before, and I would like to try. I would like to invite you to read along with me. Dear Heavenly Father,

Help us to get into Your Word deeper and with a new hunger and thirst. Help us to move from reading out of obligation to reading the bible with a dependence on it like we have for physical food. Let our minds be nourished by the truth of Your Words so that we can interact with the world around us from a place of truth just like Jesus did in the wilderness. Thank You for entrusting us with Your Word. Help us to cherish and savor every Word You have given us!!
