Close Combat Battle

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and begin afresh.

A new day to walk empowered by the Word of God alive and active inside of you.

Just as we feast on the Word and the Word fills us and heals us and is our daily bread, so do we use the Word as a defense back against the enemy.

The Lord’s Word is a sword. Not just any sword, but a sword used for close combat battle.

Meaning, when the enemy is right up in your face and the attack gets close and personal.

When the fight gets real, and the enemy comes at your weak spots.

When he attacks something or someone you love.

When he mocks you or attacks your biggest fear.

When the battle is intense and you are unsure how you will ever come out victorious.

It’s in these moments, in the heat of the battle, that we have to remember that we have a weapon sharper than a two edged sword.

A weapon that is part of our daily gear as a soldier for Christ. His Word active and alive inside of us and ready to be released from our lips.

When you speak scripture to the dark, it trembles. It flees. It loses all power.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. All things were created by Him. The Word, Jesus, was there at creation and the Spoken Words of Christ are so powerful that they make lands rise up, light appear, animals spring forth, plants to grow, and chaos to become order.

That same creative power is on your lips when you speak because you are the Holy temple of the Living God. JESUS has come to dwell on the inside of you. And your words have power and when you speak His Words, the enemy has to flee.

Jesus defeated the enemy in the wilderness with ONE tactic. The spoken Word. The enemy attacked three times with three different tactics, and Jesus’s weapon was so powerful, He only used one. THE WORD. He defeated him with clear, accurate scripture in His hour of need and the enemy fled from Him.

Notice, it took three times. So if you have been praying and speaking scripture and your mountain hasn’t moved yet, don’t stop! Sometimes repeated combat is necessary. With the Word of God, you will be victorious.

When the enemy has you afraid md trembling in fear speak back.

“My God is always with me. He has promised to go where I go and He makes me strong and courageous.”

When the enemy says, “Your weakness is too great. You’ll never overcome this.”

Speak back:

“My Lord is more than sufficient for this battle. He will bevictorious. I will be victorious. He is my always present help and where I lack He provides. Where I am weak, His strength steps in.”

When the enemy tells you that, “You are alone.”

Speak Back: “My God goes with me wherever I go. He is for me and has promised to walk with me hand in hand even to the end of the age. I am never ever alone. ”

And Gorgeous Friends, I could go on and on. I will continue with more scriptures to speak back in my next post. There are too many to take in all at once. Soak in these truths and if there is a particular battle you are facing today, feel free to share in the comments and I will focus on those scriptures in my next blog post!

The Lord’s Word is a weapon and we have FULL access!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this strong and mighty weapon available to us. Thank You that You do not leave us defenseless, but you equip us with battle weapons and you also train us up how to use them. You even came to earth and modeled life for us including fighting the enemy with the Word. Lord, as we feast on Your Word, fill our Spirits with scriptures so that we are ready at our hour of need.

In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Blessings and Victory!

Vanessa Lynn

  1. I am so encouraged by your post today! It took me 3 tries to log in so I could comment lol. I would love some verses to speak back to the feeling of hopelessness when you don’t have answers but your still searching.

  2. Beautiful!!! So encouraging especially in these times!!

Iā€™m forwarding this to a friend that I really think could use it!ā¤ļø

  3. This week the message everywhere has been authoritative prayer – speaking to the mountain and putting on the armour of God. I think we need to be listening. Thank you, Vanessa.
