Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start.
A new day to rise and just call out, “Jesus.”
A new day to lean into Him and just call on His name.
A new day to find the rest you so desperately need.
A new day for a fresh peace to invade your soul regardless of the storm you are facing.
Last week, my world felt like it was crashing in. I messaged my two closest friends and simply said, “I’m not okay. ”
And last week I definitely was not okay. I was struggling through some major hurts, and didn’t know how it would all turn out.
But what I want to share is how I battled. I hit my knees. I cried from the depths of my being. Loud, vulnerable, sobbing and as I cried, I prayed one word: “Jesus.” I just cried and spoke His name again and again.
“Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. ” He drew near and He met my every need in that moment and in the following days.

He provided clarity. He spoke to my heart about some of the root of the issue. He showed me a path to take. He directed phone calls and orchestrated conversations. And I didn’t pray for any of those things to happen…. I simply prayed one word, “Jesus.” And Jesus read my heart and came to my rescue.
In church on Sunday, I went to the altar and just took a posture of prayer. Again, I didn’t have many words, but found myself just praying His name. “Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.” I felt His Presence show up and minister to me gently and lovingly. He didn’t need my words, just my dependence on Him.
Then, on Monday, this picture came across my FB feed…. it was taken by Life Church while I was praying on Sunday. All the feelings of His love and rescuing Presence came back as I saw myself crying out to Him. He is such an amazing, loving, all knowing, all providing Father God.

Friends, we don’t have to have all the right words when we pray. Jesus taught that fancy words and long prayers don’t impress the Lord. The Lord simply reads your heart.
This is what Jesus said:
“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
Matthew 6:7-8 NLT

This is great news for anyone who has ever tried to pray and didn’t know what to say to the Lord.
Or anyone who has been in such deep anguish that words seemed impossible to speak.
Instead of worrying about what to say in your time of need, all you need to know is WHO to turn to and He will handle the rest. A simple posture of the heart where you turn to the Lord and simply call on Him in humble reverence recognizing that you cannot do this on your own and He is your hope. A simple heart cry of, “Jesus.” And He will be there to hold you, comfort you, and show you where to turn next.
So today if you need a touch from heaven, you can trust in the One who hears you, knows you, and will faithfully draw near to you. You can trust that when you cry, “Jesus.” He appears.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You Papa for always being there for us. Thank You for not making it complicated or difficult to come to You in our hour of desperation. Thank You that we can pray simply and with sincerity and You bend down to listen. Thank you for rescuing me. I pray that the one who reads and prays this same prayer will feel Your Presence and open their heart to Your rescuing Hands. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
Blessings!
