Summer Adventures: When is the last time you traveled without GPS?

Good Morning Gorgeous!

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start! A new day to operate each moment by leaning into the power and discernment of Holy Spirit.

There is a supernatural gift from God available to each of us every moment of our lives!

But because we have free will, we have to choose to surrender to the leading and prompting of Holy Spirit.

And the more we learn to move with Him and be still with Him, the more we will recognize His voice and His lead.

I am driving hours a day on unknown roads in California. (Unknown to me)

I literally have NO idea where I am going each day. I am here visiting my family and staying with my Aunt Julie and Grandma and cousin who live in Lancaster.

I have a large family and each day we’ve been traveling to visit with them or to go on various adventures. And, I don’t have a clue where each of the freeways go, what various routes are available, which exits to take, or even if I’m headed to go through a mountain or around it.

Soooo…..I’ve relied soley on GPS. Literally, SOLELY on GPS for directions. I ask for the address of where we are headed, type it in, and we go wherever GPS tells me to go.

And I trust that the voice on GPS will guide me in the right direction. She has gotten me there every time, so I follow her voice in the car with such blind trust. I don’t search for another way to get advice. I don’t call my family and ask for directions. I don’t stop along my route and double check with people if I’m headed in the right direction. I simply TRUST her voice.

Oh this heavy relying on GPS has definitely got me drawing parallels to HOLY Spirit!

He so so desires to be our guide, the voice that we attune our ears to and follow wholeheartedly.

He can be trusted completely. You don’t need a 2nd opinion on His Word. You can trust His voice in your life. You can turn your ears to Him and follow with complete surrender and you will get exactly where you are supposed to go. It will be God’s destination for you.

Now, even though GPS was always correct. I am human. And the conditions of the road were not always ideal. The traffic can be really challenging and the freeways are sometimes 6 or more lanes. I think I’ve seen 8 lanes in one direction! So I’ve passed exits simply because I couldn’t get across that many lanes before the exit showed up.

And guess what GPS does! She gives me new directions to get me back on track for my final destination!

Oh so is the precious grace and forgiveness and restoration of Jesus!

If you’ve taken an exit that led you somewhere you were never meant to go, simply turn to Jesus and ask Him to guide you back! He’s so gentle and so faithful to His children. He will get you on the best on ramp to return to the right track.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You!! Thank You for Holy Spirit! Thank You that Holy Spirit is our inheritance from You. Thank You for the written Word. Thank You for giving us such close connection to You that we can follow You closely and with security that You will never steer us wrong! You are a faithful Father. If someone is reading this and knows that they’ve traveled off track, bring them back on Father. Draw them back in to safety, to purpose, and to their destiny in You.

In Jesus’s Name, Amen.

Blessings and Holy Spirit led lives!

And if you came across this post and you haven’t yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, may I encourage you that by choosing Him you receive eternal life in heaven, BUT ALSO abundant life NOW. Following Him is the most precious adventure you have ever taken!! All you have to do to get started is to pray and receive Him as Lord. The Bible says to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe with your heart the precious gospel message that Jesus taught. Repent of your sins which means simply to ask Jesus to forgive you and then choose to walk away from them and go in the New Direction that God is calling you to. Confess or speak that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for you, that He was resurrected from the dead, and ascended to heaven. And that you recieve Him as your Lord and Savior. That you are sorry for your sins and you recieve His FULL and complete forgiveness for every wrong you’ve ever committed. And that you are choosing to follow Him now and leave the ways of the world behind for the things of Jesus!!! And if you mean that with your heart, you are saved and set free to live a new life free of sin! The Bible says you are now a brand new creation! Old things have passed away and new things have come!!! The Bible also says that all of heaven rejoices whenever a person is saved!!!! Just imagine the party being held in heaven on your behalf right now!!!

  1. Such a relatable post, I just wrote something similar recently about GPS directions and how symbolic it behaves as the Holy Spirit will if we allow, listen, and trust!!
