Good Morning Gorgeous!
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and grow closer to Jesus.
A new day to spend time with Him asking for clarity and direction.
A new day to spend time with Him telling Him what’s on your heart.
A new day to spend time with Him allowing space and time for Him to speak to You.
And in that quiet space, sometimes we hear Holy assignments and direction.
And sometimes the assignments God gives us are God sized. They are larger than we can imagine actually happening. They involve partnering with God and going where He is leading.
Imagine the trembling yes of Mary as she told the angel Gabriel, “Let it be done to me as you have said.”
Imagine the abrupt lifestyle change each of the disciples experienced as they dropped everything to follow Jesus.
God’s plans are so often larger than we could create on our own. They involve two crucial parts: 1. Saying yes to God. 2. Recognizing our dependence on God and leaning into Holy Spirit to walk in God’s plans for our lives
And so often we forget that we will have help by God Himself through the Holy Spirit and because we forget, we get scared and back up, slink back, and accept only that which we can imagine ourselves accomplishing. We limit our dreams and movement based on our own abilities instead of our abilities partnered with the God of the impossible becoming possible!
And we actually get stuck in a pattern of crying out to God, “Send me. I want Your will for my life.” AND then when He calls us to do something scary, we back up and question, “Is that really God speaking. Surely He didn’t really mean to do that! Or to go there..or to talk to that person or to face that fear.”
And we talk ourselves right out of destiny.
The night before our trip to California, we were finishing packing and setting out the things needed for our flight and my daughter Nia who has never flown before began to cry, and then sob, and then totally tantrum.
It began with naming all her fears about our trip.
She didn’t want to fly. What if the airplane falls?
She didn’t want to leave her daddy for a few days. What if she misses him and can’t sleep?
She didn’t want to stay at grandma’s house. What if she’s mean?
And when the crying turned into wailing, and no reassurances were working, I asked her if she would rather stay home with daddy and the boys. She stopped crying, thought about it a moment, and burst into tears. “No, I don’t want to stay here without you, but I don’t want to go with you!”
Well…hmmm… ummm. Let’s see Nia, we have to pick one. And she settled on going because being away from her mommy sounded worse than facing every one of her fears with her mommy next to her!
And that’s what surrendering fully to God is like! Desiring to be so close to Him that you become willing to go wherever He is. You are willing to go where His Presence is. Where His will for you is. Where His Voice is calling you. Wherever God is going, I want to go! Because with Him, I can scale a mountain. Without Him, I can do nothing!
So I began to think how much like this struggle of my 5 year old daughter, we also struggle with the call of God on our life. To go seems so scary and filled with unknowns and to stay means to miss out on the fullness of what God has for us.
So what do we do?
We go! We receive. We accept. We do the scary things of God. We say yes to the challenges given to us by Holy Spirt because just like I will be holding Nia’s hand on our whole trip, so God will be guiding you, coaching you, holding you, and equipping you!
Life going where God calls is the way to recieve the promise from Jesus to have life and have more abundantly!

And Nia is having an amazing trip! We are 3 days into our vacation here in California and she has had a blast. Here are some sweet travel pics!

Dear Heavenly Father,
You are so goooood!!!! You call us forward into the unknown, but YOU are there. Always there. With us, guiding us, and filling us with every good gift needed to fulfill the call. Lord, make fears flee as we say yes to each Holy Assignment. Make way for us to follow You right into the promised lands in our lives, and let us not shrink back when we face enemies and troubles that appear to be giants. Let us instead continue to advance forward into the places You have so prepared us for. Let is move when You speak movement and be still when You call us to pause. Let us be so attuned to Your voice and Your leading that we can follow You with clarity and peace that we are in Your will.
In Jesus’s Name,
Amen.
Blessings and courage to say yes to the call of God on your life,

Vanessa Lynn

And if you came across this post and you haven’t yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, may I encourage you that by choosing Him you receive eternal life in heaven, BUT ALSO abundant life NOW. Following Him is the most precious adventure you have ever taken!! All you have to do to get started is to pray and receive Him as Lord. The Bible says to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe with your heart the precious gospel message that Jesus taught. Repent of your sins which means simply to ask Jesus to forgive you and then choose to walk away from them and go in the New Direction that God is calling you to. Confess or speak that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for you, that He was resurrected from the dead, and ascended to heaven. And that you recieve Him as your Lord and Savior. That you are sorry for your sins and you recieve His FULL and complete forgiveness for every wrong you’ve ever committed. And that you are choosing to follow Him now and leave the ways of the world behind for the things of Jesus!!! And if you mean that with your heart, you are saved and set free to live a new life free of sin! The Bible says you are now a brand new creation! Old things have passed away and new things have come!!! The Bible also says that all of heaven rejoices whenever a person is saved!!!! Just imagine the party being held in heaven on your behalf right now!!!
Sweet Nia.
God loves you & your momma.
He wants you to have a wonderful trip.
