Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh start. A new day to rise and cling solid and steady to The Rock of Jesus Christ.
About 16 years ago, I started praying a prayer that was a cry for the Lord to save me, I would cry out to Him almost daily, “Lord, set me on the Solid Rock of Jesus Christ. Lord, remove anything from my life that needs to go, and set my feet on the Solid Ground of Christ.
And I can say that He did! He bent down and heard my prayer and set me on Solid Rock. I can confidently say that I am rooted and secured on His Rock. And He gets all the glory. His grace is how I got here and His grace sustains me.
The process involved alot of submission on my part and just fleeing into His Safety again and again as things that I was using as my worldly rocks were stripped away. And at first those losses hurt, but they were only temporary rocks anyway. Anything that we cling to on this earth to give us security in place of God is both an idol and a temporary rock. It won’t sustain us.
The Rock of Jesus is eternal and can withstand ANY storm, any trauma, or anything the enemy hurls at you.
The Rock of Jesus is a place where you can climb onto for safety and rest when you need to get above the storm. This Rock is higher than our earthly perspective and gets us into His Arms where we can find peace, deliverance, and whatever we need to continue in the direction He has set for us.
The Rock of Jesus will hold you steady and secure through this life and right into eternal life. On this Rock, you are safe from even the sting of death.
The Rock of Jesus is the ultimate hurricane shelter. The winds may blow, the rain may come, but if you are grounded, tethered, and secured by the Rock of His Word, you won’t be moved from the Rock.
Jesus had this to say about building on the Rock of His Word:
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
And the Name of Rock for God is found all throughout the Old Testament as a place for safety with God.
This was a place where the Lord protected and saved and redeemed.
And here are more verses!
When Jesus is your Rock and your life is built on His Word, there is a steady force that keeps you tied to Him and His internal assurance that no matter what comes, you will be okay. You will make it, you will survive, you will come out on the other side strong and secure.
About 9 years ago, I felt my whole world crumble. Everything shifted, my job changed, my marriage crumbled, and I couldn’t seem to grab a foothold. Every where I turned felt like shifting and shaking ground. There was no safe, secure, solid place EXCEPT God.
My home wasn’t solid ground.
My spouse wasn’t solid ground.
My job wasn’t solid ground.
The ONLY Rock, steady and secure was the Lord and I clung on for dear life. And He never, ever left me. Instead, I can look back and see miracle after miracle in that season.
God is so good, and He is exactly who He says He is.
We have to learn to fully place our trust in Him and Him alone. He will never, ever let you go. He will have you safe for all of eternity.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We cling to You today as our Rock.. We trust that You will keep us safe and steady and protected as we cling to You and Your Word. We cling to Your Word even when it’s not popular. We cling to Your Word even when we don’t like what it says. We cling to Your Word as our Rock today. Set us steady and firm on the Rock of Jesus Christ.
In Jesus’s name, Amen.
Blessings as you climb onto the Rock today!
