Recap: How to stay in the Word

Good Morning Gorgeous!

It’s a brand new day! A fresh new start! A new day to rise and run into the Arms of Jesus!

I am sharing here all of the scriptures that I used Wednesday night in my live teaching on “How to stay in the Word.”

The live teaching that explains all of the scriptures can be found by joining: Good Morning Gorgeous on Facebook

Welcome! Falling in love with our Bible is falling in love with Jesus!

Its a gift from the Lord to guide us, cleanse us, teach us, feed us, calm us, equip us, and it is a close combat weapon!!!

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark. They will go from one place to another, weary and hungry. And because they are hungry, they will rage and curse their king and their God. They will look up to heaven and down at the earth, but wherever they look, there will be trouble and anguish and dark despair. They will be thrown out into the darkness.
Isaiah 8:20‭-‬22 NLT

Father God we are people of the light! People who desire to never go hungry because we failed to dine on the Word. Let us fall in love with You, Your Words, Your breath, Your spiritual food!

Three Reasons to Read Your Bible Daily

1. God’s Word is supernatural food for your body!

The Bible has some amazing things to say about the Word.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ”
John 1:1‭, ‬3‭-‬5‭, ‬10‭-‬15 NKJV

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
John 6:51 NKJV

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life.

He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.
John 6:35 NKJV

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
I Peter 2:1‭-‬3 NKJV

Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.
Jeremiah 15:16 NKJV

It is sustenance and we cannot live without it. We will be spiritually sick and starving. We must feast DAILY on the Word. Just like not feeding nutritious food to your physical body can cause it to become ill, so no feeding your soul the Word of the Lord will cause you to feel defeated, sluggish, and hungry and parched. And when you get to the place of hunger, you’ll fall for other desires.

Also, what you feed on, you develop an appetite for. The more you develop a healthier diet of feeding on the scriptures, you will crave the Word.

2. It cleanses you, purifies you, performs surgery on parts that need to go.

The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.
Psalms 12:6 NKJV

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16 NKJV

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

Performs surgery on us. Clarifying, and setting us straight. Sometimes we have broken beliefs that have set wrong, healed wrong, and as we read the Bible we have to unlearn what “man” or religion or tradition has taught us and instead learn from the Lord Himself from His own Words.

Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
II Timothy 3:16 NKJV

3. It is a Weapon to defeat the devil in your life!

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 1:26‭-‬28 NKJV

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Genesis 3:1‭-‬6 NKJV

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ (The devil will offer you things during a time of weakness, lack, great need.)

” Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
Matthew 4:1‭-‬11 NKJV

Lord, make us a people that will proclaim to the devil, “It is written! ”

Close combat Battle!
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Ephesians 6:14‭-‬18 NKJV

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
John 15:7 NKJV

But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
I Peter 1:25 NKJV

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:20‭-‬22 NKJV

How to USE it!

In my teaching, I showed how to battle just like Jesus did! Reply to each temptation with IT IS WRITTEN and then quote scripture! The pure Word of God will cause satan to flee from you!

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
I Corinthians 6:19‭-‬20 NKJV

Things go all wrong-

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 NKJV

Feel unloved

nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:39 NKJV

Feel like God is upset with you

The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV

The world around you is shifting and changing

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Matthew 7:24‭-‬25 NKJV

Feel like you don’t belong

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Romans 8:12‭-‬15 NKJV

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You Lord for Your Precious Written Word! You have given us everything we need to know You, know Your will, and stay safe from the enemy’s tricks. Let us be a people that continually speak back, “It is written” Lord, make us hungry and thirsty for Your Word!

In Jesus’s Name,

Blessings and hunger for God’s Word,

Vanessa Lynn
