Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. All things are becoming brand NEW!
As we get closer to Christmas, the celebration of our Savior’s Birth, we can choose to daily pause and reflect on what Jesus’s birth brought to the earth.
Jesus brought a whole NEW Kingdom to earth. He brought the ways and government and authority of Christ to the earth and began to break ground and establish the ways of heaven in the earth.
The parable teachings are heaven’s ways.
The radical love of God and others are heaven’s ways.
When Jesus ministered ALL were healed, demons would flee, and darkness would go. This is a glimpse of heaven where sickness and darkness cannot be! Jesus drives out all darkness.
Everywhere He goes, we get glimpses of Heaven.
The total devotion to the Lord and leaving the world’s offerings for spiritual food from Jesus is how to access heaven’s ways.
And as we read the NEW Testament, we see all the miracles, all the teachings, and the amazing accounts of miracles.
There is a HUGE part of the ministry of Jesus that we cannot afford to overlook.
The Invitation for others to do the SAME
In Luke 9, He commissioned 12 disciples to GO and move in the SAME ministry. They did it ALL. The healings, the preaching that the KINGDOM was here and Jesus was the way to life, AND the casting out of demons.
He didn’t keep any part of the ministry from them.
Now in Luke 10, the ministry expands! He sends out 72 disciples with the SAME instructions, and gives them AUTHORITY and POWER to heal, preach, and deliver!
Jesus is expanding His kingdom in the earth and this is just a glimpse of what is to come. This kingdom is one that is advancing, moving forward and taking ground!
Demons don’t stand a chance.
Sickness cannot remain.
Even death loses its hold and people rise again like the young girl, the widow’s son, Lazarus.
And religious rules that keep people bound are challenged.
By sending 12 and then sending 72, Jesus is beginning to show that this ministry will expand and He will partner with people to carry it forth.
Of course that’s God’s original design to involve people in His plans and give them authority. That’s how it was in the Garden. That’s how it was when He delivered Israel from Egypt through Moses and when they crossed over the Jordan into the promised land by the leading of Joshua.
God chooses people to work with and through to carry out His plans!
Luke 10:1 NLT
[1] The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit.
Luke 10:2-9 NLT
[2] These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. [3] Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. [4] Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road. [5] “Whenever you enter someone’s home, first say, ‘May God’s peace be on this house.’ [6] If those who live there are peaceful, the blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will return to you. [7] Don’t move around from home to home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking what they provide. Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve their pay. [8] “If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you. [9] Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’
Luke 10:16 NLT
[16] Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.”
And then, the disciples return and we get a glimpse into the heart of the Father!!!
They are celebrating!
It works!
It works!
The demons obey. The sickness flees. Everything is subject to the Name of Jesus!
Luke 10:17 NLT
[17] When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!”
And Jesus tells them not to celebrate that, but celebrate that their names are registered in heaven! They are recorded in the Lamb’s book of Life. Not because of the works they do, but because of their belief and following of the Savior!
Luke 10:18-20 NLT
[18] “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning! [19] Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. [20] But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.”
And then Jesus STOPS, turns to heaven and prays to the Father a prayer of THANKS!
He thanks the Father for keeping these revelations from those who are wise in their own way and giving the revelation and the ministry to the simple. To the average person. To those who will simply believe and receive!
Here’s the prayer of Jesus:
Luke 10:21 NLT
[21] At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.
The heart of the Father is to reveal the secrets of the KINGDOM to those who will receive it! There are NO other requirements except to believe in Jesus and receive! As you receive Jesus and surrender, revelation comes, assignment comes, and Holy Spirit will equip you to carry out the FULLNESS of the Great Commission which is: sharing the gospel, healing people, and driving out demons like fear, addiction, compulsion, lust, perversion, and of course many more!
This is the way of the Kingdom.
We serve a God who moves in POWER even TODAY!
We see the pattern. Jesus 1, Disciples 12, Then the 72! And finally His last instructions before He ascends to heaven, He commissions ALL who will believe to do the SAME ministry! That’s you!
So as you celebrate and you gather and you do all of the Christmas festivities, have Jesus on your tongue. Be ready to share your testimony of how He saved you. Be ready to pray for a sick family member and expect healing. Be ready to tell fear to go In Jesus’s Name.
If you are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, you are Commissioned!
And Christ is clear, if you aren’t with HIM, you are against Him. If you are not working alongside of Him in ministry, you are actually working against His Kingdom.
Dear Heavenly Father,
The call is so simple, yet also so big all at the same time! We could never do it without YOU. Lord, come strengthen us, equip us, make us BOLD to spread the gospel and demonstrate Your love with accompanying signs and miracles.
