Luke 11- Advent Calendar

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. All things are becoming new.

Jesus opens up in Luke 11 with how to pray.

This prayer is NOT more religious expectation or more words that have to be said just the right way for blessing.

This prayer is one of ACCESS! New revelation of how to be in relationship with the Lord and what we can come against in our prayers.

Our Father who Art in Heaven,

The Lord we serve and love is not a distant, uncaring hard to reach God. He is a loving God who desires to be in relationship with us like a daddy. A father who desires goodness for His children the days of their lives.

Hallowed be Your Name.

Your Name is holy and pure and to be honored and revered. May Your Name be lifted high, so high. May we recognize that just the mention of Your name causes things to shift and tremble and break through to become possible. May we live with continual revelation of the POWER and Holiness of Your Name.

May Your Kingdom come soon.

May Your ways come to earth. May we receieve the ways of heaven here and now. May Your government be established in the earth. May we get Ready for the return of Christ! Your kingdom Lord. Your ways Lord. May my ways bow low to Your rule and way and the ways of Your Kingdom.

Give us each day the food we need.

Lord provide for our needs today. Our needs for spiritual food! Feed our spirit what is needed everyday to remain strong and mighty in You Lord. Provide for our daily needs. Let us lean completely on You and trust that every need is being handled by You. Remind us afresh that our daily need for both the natural and the spiritual meals is important to You.

And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lord, forgive us. We fall short. We mess up. We have wrong intentions at times. Our heart needs purified. Forgive us and help us to forgive others. Help us to completely and totally forgive those who have let us down, wronged us, left us, and even abused us. Enable us to release them and Lord we trust that You are releasing us from our sins.

And don’t let us yield to temptation.

Jesus! Keep us strong. Fortify our faith. Keep us from doing evil! The Bible shows us that You Lord Jesus pray for us! You intercede. You are our High Priest! Keep us from the schemes and plots of the enemy and keep us strong and aware of his plots so we don’t fall.

‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:2‭-‬4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[2] Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. [3]  Give us each day the food we need, [4]  and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation. ”

And then Jesus KEEPS teaching about prayer. He explains how we are to remain steadfast and persistent in our prayers. Not stopping. Not giving in. Not abandoning the prayer, but remaining in prayer.

And then Jesus reveals what He meant when He says to:

Ask and keep on asking, you will receive

Seek and keep on seeking, you will find

Knock and keep on knocking, the door will open

If you continue reading, Jesus explains that He is speaking of receiving the Holy Spirit. That if  you ask for the Holy Spirit, the Lord will give Him to you! You will receive Him!

I remember when I was crying out for the Holy Spirit Baptism, I would pray this verse to God. I would pray the scriptures. I know Lord You are goood and I know that You are a goood Father. And I desire the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.. A fresh fill. The Baptism of Fire! And I so so desired my prayer language. I would pray to God, I know that Your Holy Spirit Baptism of Fire of coming.  You desire to give me this gift! Just as earthly fathers desire good gifts for their children, so much more You desire to pour out Your Spirit in me!

And the Lord answered my prayers! Just as the Scriptures say He will!

Luke‬ ‭11:9‭-‬10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[9]  “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. [10] For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

[11]  “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? [12] Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! [13] So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”

And then as you continue through Luke 11, two messages are REPEATED! Messages that showed up in earlier chapters are shared again in Luke 11, so they must be important.

NLT‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[23]  “Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.

Luke‬ ‭11:33‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[33]  “No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.

If these things are being repeated, they must be important!

Shine bright child of the Most High God!!!!

And partner with God working with Him to advance His kingdom!!

Dear Heavenly Father,

How amazing that You took the time to teach us to pray. To reveal that we are now on a relationship with You as our Daddy. You are not a far away distant God, but a closeup personal God who loves us and desires relationship with us!!

In Jesus’s Name,

Amen.

Blessings!
