Luke 13

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh NEW start!!

All things are becoming NEW.

Christmas is coming in faaast! We are 12 days away!

And so it was at the expectation of Jesus! Everything had been quiet for hundreds of years before His birth. No new Prophetic Words. No major events are recorded in our Bible for a span of a few hundred years between Malachi and the first gospel, Matthew.

And then! Light broke forth. The angel Gabriel is delivering announcements. There is a Savior on the way!! The Bible calls it Suddenly!

Now, in Luke 13, Jesus is upsetting religious systems!

He’s calling out what has been a heavy yoke put upon the people by the religious leaders. They’ve taken the law of God handed down through Moses and interpreted it in ways that made it extremely hard to keep. The law was already hard to keep and they added and added and added.

And Jesus calls them out again and again! With one well crafted statement at a time, He sets the religious leaders straight! And He does it publicly while teaching the people and demonstrating miracles!

He starts off with a strong, strong warning in Luke 13..

Repent or perish!

Sometimes we hear strong teachings and we think the preacher is being mean or judgemental.

If the message is preached from a place of purity of heart and right alignment to God, a strong message of repentance is actually much much more loving and Christlike than a weak message that won’t snatch a person from hell.

Jesus preached repentance, forgiveness, and heaven and hell.

This message must still go forth and when its preached, literal souls are being saved! That demonstrates MORE LOVE than a preacher who is only worried about the approval of the people and preaches what they want to hear and allows those under their care continue on the wide path that leads to destruction.

And YET right after Jesus preached repentance, He ALSO preached a parable about the patience of God!

The fig tree is barren and the owner tells the vineyard keeper to “chop it down” and the keeper intercedes for the tree and says, “give it another yearn, let me care for it some more, and fertilize it. Then, if it bears no fruit, you can cut it down.”

Jesus is interceding for US the same way. Father, give them more time. Your family members that you’ve been praying for, Jesus is interceding for them. He is our high priest and Jesus prays for us! He stands up for us and He is patient and merciful.

He desires that NO ONE perish. No not ONE. So for those of you waiting for the rapture of the church and the 2nd coming, Jesus is coming! But He is also being merciful, giving a little more time!

And then in Luke 13:10, we see that a spirit can cause infirmity and that Jesus is willing to heal right in front of all those religious leaders, right on the Sabbath! And He looses her from the demonic spirit of infirmity and she is healed!

She had been sick for 18 years! And when Jesus laid His Hands on her, she was loosed and healed!

Your healing is coming! Your freedom is coming! You can by the Authority of Jesus Christ command a spirit of infirmity to loose you. This is biblical. NOT ALL sickness is spiritual. BUT if it is spiritual, it must be dealt with spiritually. And Jesus gave every believer the authority to cast out demons in His Name!!

This NEWS is AMAZING! Ask Jesus to show you more. To reveal His healing and deliverance ministry to you. It upset the religious then and it upsets religious people today! But move ahead in what Jesus has equipped and commanded you to do!

Look how mad the Pharisees got at this healing!

And the next two parables of Luke shows that the Kingdom of God may start small, but it would multiply and become GREAT and far reaching! Through the birth of Jesus and His ministry, and then 12 disciples, and then 72 and then everyone who would believe a GREAT Kingdom of God would be established in the earth. From something that appeared to start small like a mustard seed or a little leaven, there would be a huge effect and heaven’s ways would be coming to earth and growing through believers!

And the way is Narrow. It’s offered to everyone, but we must come to know Jesus’s personally.

Works are not the way.

Religious traditions are not the way.

Being born into the Jewish faith as a descendant of Abraham wasn’t going to save them.

They would have to accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God and their Messiah!

And because so many rejected Him, He mourns for them.

Luke 13 ends with Jesus mourning for Jerusalem. Mourning DEEPLY for His people that He came to save!

Receive Jesus today. Align yourself afresh with Him today!

Dear Heavenly Father,

May we receive the teachings in this chapter. Teachings that show that Jesus is loving and merciful and patient, and yet also the ONLY way. A relationship with Jesus is the narrow path that leads to life, and repentance and turning to Him is still the way to LIFE! May we receive eternal life through Jesus and ALSO receive all He desires us to walk in NOW. Healing and deliverance and boldness for the Kingdom be our portion this Christmas!

In Jesus’s Name, Amen.

Blessings and boldness!
