Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh NEW start! A new day to rise and run to the door and open it for the Lord Jesus.
Revelation 3:20 tells us that Jesus stands at the door and He knocks. He is knocking and when you open the door, He comes in and shares a meal with you like friends!

This is not a knock on the door to shame you, catch you being bad, or to make you fearful.
This knock is a request to come in to your vulnerable spaces and heal them.
To come into your home where you may have hidden things and bring a salve that will heal, bring a light that will expose and set you free.
This knock is to come in and sit with you, eat with you, talk with you, and grow in a relationship of trust.
We only open our door and allow in those we trust, and sharing a meal is an act of bonding, relationship building, and its generally non threatening.
So in Revelation 3:20, Jesus tells us that He is standing at the door and knocking.
And in Luke 19:1, Jesus shows us exactly what this looks like!
He enters a town and there is a man named Zaccheus. This man is a notable sinner who is a tax collector. They were generally known for as being scoundrels, think used car salesmen. Generally, not always, but generally out to scam and deal dishonestly. Tax collectors were looked down upon by the Jewish people because they often dealt dishonestly and they oppressed the Jews through heavy taxation from the Roman government.
Zaccheus wanted to see Jesus desperately, but he was short! He climbed a TREE. He was just looking for a way to quietly observe the Lord. He wasn’t pushing through the crowd. He wasn’t yelling or making any disturbance that’s noted in the bible. Yet, Jesus called His name!

Zaccheus! I am coming to your home tonight!
Zaccheus! I am knocking on your door!
Zaccheus! Will you invite me in?!
And Zaccheus came down and welcomed Jesus into His home!

And in the Presence of the Lord everything changed. He wanted to make all his wrong business dealings right! He wanted to show his heart was changed. His repentance showed by his actions. He starts telling Jesus how he will make it right. He starts listing the ways he will turn his life around by repaying back what he has taken scandalously and MORE.

And Jesus defended Zaccheus before the religious leaders! Jesus continually defends the repentant sinners that the religious people want to shame or push away. Think the woman caught in adultery, the woman with the alabaster jar, and Zaccheus.
Jesus is stepping in the gap and making a way for them to take a seat at the table! A table that the Pharisees who believe they are worthy, may not even get to come and dine unless they also repent and believe!
A table where the requirements are to repent and believe!
To receive NEW wine and NEW wineskins.
To listen and trust what Jesus is saying!
He has come to seek and save the LOST..
He will make a way where there seems to be no other way.
The outcasts now have a seat.
The ones who have done the worst of the worst sins can now have a seat.
They just have to recognize their need for a Savior and then receive His Saving!!
Jesus sought out Zaccheus and Zaccheus gladly responded to the call of Jesus!
He opened the door and so can you!!!
You can open the door to Jesus and let Him in every secret place. Healing can flow and new life can be yours.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You Lord for healing, for new life, for a seat at the table! May we be like Zaccheus and climb trees to get a better look. May we be willing to step out and be inconvenienced to seek you. And when we seek You with all of our heart like Zaccheus, may we be found by You!!
In Jesus’s Name,
Amen.
Blessings and open doors to Christ!
