Good Morning Child of the Most High God!
It’s a brand NEW day. A fresh NEW start and all things are being made NEW!
Every day the Lord’s mercies are BRAND NEW!
Every day we can offer a fresh surrender.
Every day a new opportunity to lay it all down at the feet of Jesus.
I’m a momma of five and we have had some struggles with two of our children and their behavior lately.
They are sweet, kind, loving, deep thinkers. They LOVE Jesus and have good hearts. And yet, at times their behavior doesn’t match.
This morning, I got news from the Assistant Principal that they were being suspended for one day due to some poor choices last week.
Immediately, they were apologetic, sorry, and repentant. The whole ride home they owned up to their behavior, apologized, and wanted reassurance from me.
They KNOW what is right, but they don’t always do it in the moment.
Why do I share this?
Haven’t we all been there? We knew what was right before the Lord, but we acted out of our flesh.
We knew that we should hold our tongue, but we responded in haste.
We knew we should not return to that old habit, and yet we chose to entertain it one more time.
We know our weaknesses and our hangups. We know them full well.
How do we get FREE for real FREE?
According to the pattern in the New Testament for healing, deliverance, freedom, and transformed life, there is a moment of total Surrender.
A laying it all down and desperately asking Jesus to take it.
The healings and deliverances by Jesus were preceded by people who left their dignity behind and fell down at His feet, or called out His Name in a crowd, or left everything to follow Him.
There was a moment when they wanted Jesus MORE than anything else. More than their dignity, more than their position, more than their comfort.
And He moved with compassion everytime.
The people He turned away had something in common…… they were still holding onto old ways, old mindsets, or possessions that meant more to them than Jesus.
To be free, we must be willing to make a holy trade with Jesus.
His ways instead of ours. JESUS said it like this…. Matthew 11:29-30 ESV
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

And He said it like this….Matthew 12:50 ESV
[50] For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

And like this…
Matthew 13:44 ESV
[44] “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

And with my boys being home today, I see a picture of how often we fall into the same pattern of knowing the right things, but doing it our own way.
When you encounter Jesus, you realize that He is soo worth ANYTHING you lay down or give up.
I shared yesterday that I would share surrender prayers all week. This one is a prayer of surrendering your home to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Is your home a reflection of Jesus. Does it honor Him? Are all the activities within it honoring to Him? Would you participate in them if He walked in the room?
If you desire to allow Jesus to be Lord of your whole home, here is a prayer.
Prayer for your home.
I surrender my home to You. I give You everything in it. Lord, may every area of my home honor You. Lord, come and light up any dark shadows, expose anything that is not pleasing to You. Lord, may the shows I watch on TV, the conversations around my dinner table, the activities in my home all be honoring to You.
Lord, protect my home and everyone in it. Set a hedge around it so that no enemy can enter. May all offense be left at the door as people enter. Lord, protect my home from all evil intentions in the physical realm and the spiritual realm.
I invite You to be LORD over my home. I invite Your Presence to dwell in my home. I surrender my whole home to You to use it for Your plans to go forth. May my home be a place of ministry, healing, worship, and prayer. Lord, make my home into a place where my family seeks Your face and finds You.
May all who enter my home immediately feel the ministry of Your peace come upon them. May my house be a consecrated, set apart place where the Kingdom is administered.
Jesus, my home and everyone and everything in it is all Yours!
In Jesus Name, Amen.
Psalms 91 is a beautiful picture of the Lord’s protection over you and your home.
Psalm 91:1-16 ESV
[1] He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” [3] For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. [4] He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. [5] You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, [6] nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. [7] A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. [8] You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. [9] Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— [10] no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. [11] For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. [12] On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone. [13] You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. [14] “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. [15] When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. [16] With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Blessings and may you be brave and bold in your surrender,
Vanessa Lynn
