I Surrender my Time. Jesus was interuptable and approachable.

Good Afternoon Child of the Most High God,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. And all things are being made NEW.

We are in process, being worked in and through by Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.

As we walk with the One who has both authored our faith and will also carry us all the way to completion, we naturally become more and more like Him.

This faith walk is a continual growth process. Our flesh is dying more and more and we are becoming spirit led.

We are being pruned by the Master Gardener. Our old ways are becoming less and less as we are sanctified and washed in the Word.

As we surrender more and more to Jesus, things that used to hold us captive, lose their grip.

We react differently.

We move differently.

We talk differently.

We are different than we used to be before giving up everything to follow Him.

This is what followers of Jesus Christ are called to do, allow themselves to be molded, shaped, and led by Him.

And when we look at the life of Jesus Christ, we see that He was interuptable.

When someone crossed His path and called out to Him, He often paused, listened, healed, set free, told a story or a parable.

He also prioritized time with the Father, and often withdrew to be alone in prayer.

He also took His disciples and withdrew with them away from the crowds.

Jesus’s life demonstrates a powerful pattern of public ministry, team ministry, and also periods of time away with the Lord.

He also demonstrated the principle of pausing and being present with the people right in front of Him even if it held Him up or made Him “late.”

Time is a precious resource in today’s culture, and it probably was in Jesus’s culture too. It may have presented different, but we see Martha meet Jesus when He was headed to Lazarus and she said, “Lord, if You had been here my brother would have lived.”

John 11:21 ESV
[21] Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

She was saying, “You’re too late. You weren’t here on time to save his life.”

But then Jesus did the unexpected. He raised Lazarus from the dead even though Jesus was so late that the Bible says Lazarus stinketh!

In another place in scripture, Jesus said He only does what He sees the Father doing.

John 5:19 ESV
[19] So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.

Jesus’s Time was surrendered unto the Father.

If Jesus, the Lord Himself moved in step with the Father because they are one….. how much more do we need to move in step with the Lord?

We can rest that when we are moving with Holy Spirit, we will accomplish His will and in His timing!

So let’s surrender this precious resource of time unto the Lord.

Giving God our time is similar to the supernatural provision when we tithe.

Somehow 90% blessed by God is more money than 100% kept unto ourselves.

And time is the same. When you take time to pray, read the Word, be sensitive to the assignments Jesus is calling you to, somehow you will find that you have enough time to get it all done.

It’s supernatural that when our lives are properly aligned and in obedience to the Lord, we have all that we need!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today I surrender my time unto You. It’s all a gift anyway. Every breath I breathe is because of You Lord.

Thank You for the opportunity to live a surrendered life unto You. I give You everything Lord including my rising and sleeping.

I give You my coming and going. I ask Lord that You lead me by Your Holy Spirit to the way You want me to organize my time.

Remove distracting activities that do not honor You. Show me areas where I am walking in disobedience with my time and them help me to get back in proper order.

Lord, show me how to keep a Sabbath day Holy unto You. Teach me how to rest and live in cycles of productivity and cycles of rest.

Teach me how to step away and get into the secret place to pray and minister unto You with my time.

Lord, I give You everything.  Make me interuptable and open to pausing my agenda for the agenda of heaven. Help me to be sensitive to Your voice and stop when You tell me to stop and Go when you say Go.

Here I am Lord. I trust You to order my steps, order my time.  Remove all idleness and laziness from me. Cleanse me of being selfish with my time.

I surrender afresh my daily gift of time unto Your plans for my life.

In Jesus’s Name, Amen.

Blessings!

Vanessa Lynn
