I Surrender my Mind.

Good Afternoon Child of the Most High God,

It’s a brand NEW day. A fresh new start. All things are being made NEW.

The Lord gives specific instructions about our responsibility to actively RENEW our mind.

And the prefix RE- means again..

So we need to do it again and again.

And through His Word, He tells us that it will actually be how we are transformed.

At the most basic level, this means “change your thoughts, change your life”

For as a man thinkers, so is he. Proverbs 23:7

Romans 12:1-2 ESV
[1] I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. [2] Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

We are called to renew our mind again and again and again.

And the Bible even tells us HOW!

We are to capture, arrest, take hold of every thought and make it obey Christ!

2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV
[5] We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

Our minds if not totally surrendered unto the Lord can take us all kinds of places that we don’t want to go.

Scary places,

Sad places,

Tempting places

Traumatic places

And if what we think is who we become, then how much more important is it for our thoughts to line up with the thoughts of Christ!

And part of this RENEW process is to surrender again and again and again.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I give You my mind and every thought. Teach me Lord to meditate on Your Word and what it says about me. Lord, help me to know the truth and walk in the truth.

Lord, You are Lord of my whole life including my thought life.

I don’t want to be afraid anymore. I don’t want to allow my mind to take me places that cause me worry, anxiety, fear, or racing thoughts.

I don’t want to sin in my thought anymore. I want my thoughts to be pure and honor You. Lord, help me to recognize thoughts immediately that are hurtful or sinful. Train me up Lord to capture these thoughts and turn toward Your truths instead.

I don’t want to soak in sad places in my mind anymore. Lord, the JOY of the Lord is my strength. Help me to release my pain and trust You to heal my painful thoughts.

Lord, I give You my mind and everything in it. Take what doesn’t belong and also fill it with what DOES.

Lord, anoint me with creativity and fresh clarity. As you heal what needs to go, I ask You to retrain me to think like You, walk in the TRUTH in every single area of my mind and my life.
