Christmas Story Day 7: Joy, Joy, Joy…. seek it, choose it, find it, keep it..

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh start. The Lord’s mercies and equipping are afresh and anew each dawn. Mornings are a reminder of God’s continual renewal and refreshing. Just as the dark of the evening marks the end of a long day, so the sunrise brings the beginning of a new one.

This day is brand new. Fresh. It is not yesterday. It is the present and a present. You have the power to decide how you will unwrap each day. You get to choose excitement and joy and gratitude for the breath in your lungs or you get to choose solemness and drudgery. And on some days we feel the excitement, and others we wake up and we just don’t feel the joy that Jesus promises.

It’s on those days when we have to choose to walk in joy. Its when we have to rise up, dig deep, and begin to speak gratitude. Thank You Lord that I woke up this morning. Thank you Lord for a new dawn and a fresh new day that has never been lived before. Thank you for my beautiful children and my home. Thank you..thank you…thank you. Many times, we just need a new perspective on the really hard mornings. We need to make a choice about what we will magnify and what we will set aside for God to handle for us. What we set our eyes on is what we will experience. If we set our eyes on joy, we will experience it. If we set our eyes on the gloom of the day, we will surely walk in the gloomiest shadows. Some days you have to rise up and choose to move out of the shade and into the sunshine. As you let it kiss your cheeks, you can see beauty everywhere, and then the joy you have been waiting for will rise up out of you regardless of the situations around you. When you look for sunshine, you will find it. When you seek the Lord with all of your heart, you will find Him. When you choose to focus on Jesus this Christmas Season despite the hundred things vying for your attention, you will experience a new level of gratitude this Christmas. Everything around is screaming look here, do this, add this, buy this, don’t forget this or that. Jesus is quietly saying, “Come to me and you will find rest. Call on me and I will answer you. I came to earth so that you would have life, and life more abundantly.”

He came to bring a new level of peace and joy. The peace of knowing we have been saved from ourselves and our sin and the joy of being equipped to serve Him each day. And whenever we are lacking in joy or peace, we need only to turn to Him and ask for help in restoring the peace and joy that following Jesus brings to our hearts.

Gorgeous girl, some days are easier than others. On the hard days, we can still find our joy. Seek Him, and you will find Him. Knock and the door will be opened. Call out to Him, and He will save you from whatever is holding you back. He is a good good God and He came to earth so that you could be in relationship with Him. So that you could call on Him anytime. So that you would have direct access to the Lord Himself. Access Your inheritance today, and pray to the one who hears you and answers.

Dear Heavenly Father, Help us to see the Christmas Story as the moment in history when everything changed. It was the beginning of something so miraculous, that it is hard to grasp. You, a little baby, born in flesh as human, Your son walking the earth as one of us so that nothing would separate us from You again. Thank You for Your divine gifts this Christmas Season. Help us to choose to walk in peace and joy by feasting our eyes on You and stepping into the sunshine each day. Lord, help us to avoid the shadows.

In Jesus’s name, Amen
