Good Morning Gorgeous,
It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to walk humbly in step with Jesus recognizing fully that His ways are always better than any plan we could devise on our own.
The verse of ths day is: Humility is the fear of the Lord ; its wages are riches and honor and life. Proverbs 22:4
And the word Fear of the Lord here means obedience, reverence. It’s recognizing that He is holy, perfect, all knowing and all present. He knows best and with the limited information we possess in relation to the limitless knowledge He has as an infinite God who knows all from the beginning to the end. When we can learn to trust Him, we can more easily obey Him. And Proverbs tells us that obedience leads to riches, honor, and life.
Following His ways doesn’t mean everything on this side of heaven will be perfect. We live in a fallen world that He is restoring back to Himself. So, we will experience pain, heartache, surprises, twists, and turns.
Yet, as we turn to Him time and time again seeking His paths over our own, we will experience protection because walking with Him is always safer than wandering alone our own way.
We will experience wisdom as we learn to hear His voice and instructions.
We will experience riches that money could never buy such as: an abundance of peace regardless of circumstances, the assurance of having the God of the Universe on our side battling on our behalf, the security of trusting Him like a child willingly trusts their parent.
The riches of walking, talking, and growing with the Lord. Being close to Jesus is a wealth all it’s own. Nothing can compare.
Today’s short verse of the day in the Bible App is a good reminder that every day we can choose afresh to place His ways first. To humble ourselves each morning and recognize that we don’t know it all, but we serve the One who does. And the best part, He has good plans for us, so we can confidently walk according to His ways. It’s not so scary to trust Him when we are reminded He has our very best at heart. He will work it all out for good as we lean in and trust Him.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your goodness. Thank You for walking right alongside of us so closely and so involved. Help us to bravely choose obedience over our own desires. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
Blessings!
