A Lifestyle of Prayer

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh start. A new chance today! A new dawn. A newness can be found in every sunrise. For you may have lived many days, but you’ve never lived this very day. This day has value and sweetness and precious treasures all it’s own.

I saw a post on Facebook yesterday that said, “When you don’t know what to do, pray.” And I thought it was such a simple reminder that we ALWAYS have a helpline. Always!

We are never left to just figure it all out. We are not alone in anything. And even when the whole world feels as though it is crashing down, and we don’t know what to do or where to turn, we can speak to the One who can part a sea, rain manna daily for 40 years, open blind eyes, bring back hearing, and raise the dead!

The same Lord on the throne for each beautiful miracle in the bible is still on the throne today. He still works miracles in the earth. He still heals.. He still raises the dead to life. He still sets captives free. He still parts waters when we have no other escape route. He still moves! And He hears our every prayer.

So if we know He hears us and we know that power is released from heaven when we pray, let’s pray endlessly. Let’s pray as we rise. Let’s pray as we prepare for our day. Let’s pray as we drive to work. Let’s pray when we get good news and let’s pray when we get bad news. Let’s pray with others as often as possible. There is power in agreeing in prayer! Jesus had a powerful promise! “Again truly I tell you..if two of you on earth agree about aanything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:19

Wow! When we let that truth soak into our spirit, we begin to see that as we gather together our prayers have power! Things shift and move when we pray and there is special power in praying with others. So as you chat with a struggling friend, pray with them! Be bold and courageous and just talk the Lord together in prayer!! Your shared prayer carries power. The Lord said so Himself!

And the way to overcome fear of praying with people is to just do it. The more you pray with others, the more natural it will become. It will get easier and easier as you step out in faith and just practice. If Jesus promised us that the Father hears and answers when we agree with others in prayer then we have a beautiful opportunity to do this often and eagerly.

It reminds me of the saying that was popular a few years back… Keep Calm and Just __________. People would fill in the blank with all kinds of things.

But the bible literally says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

So Keep Calm and Just Pray is a biblical truth!

Friends here’s to an amazing day all wrapped up in Jesus. Pray continually. The Lord hears you! He bends down to listen when you speak.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for the beautiful promise that when we pray you hear us. Thank You that when we have faith we can move mountains. Thank You for the beautiful gift of prayer any time of day, and at every twisty turn. Thank You for the promise that when we pray with others, You have promised that we will have what we ask for. Thank You for being a good, good Father. Fill us with boldness and passion to pray often and with others. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Blessings!

Vanessa Lynn
