Let Everything Praise Him!

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A beautiful new day to come to the Lord with Praise and Thanksgiving AND a new day to come under the authority of the Lord. There is beauty and freedom in our submission over to the Lord. And submission and praise are interconnected in such a way that it is hard to have one separate from the other.

As you praise you are submitting to the Lord by recognizing that He is worthy of your adoration and praises. And as you submit to His ways, you are praising Him with your whole heart, whole soul, and whole mind by your living. Basically your whole life becomes an act of praise!

As I sat with Jesus this morning, I was meditating on Psalm 150. The closer I looked at the Psalm, the clearer and more focused it became. The Lord outlines where and when to praise Him, why we should praise Him, what to praise Him with, how to praise Him, and who should praise Him. It is such a beautiful picture of the way we can fully and completely praise Him!

Psalm 150- This Psalm is just 6 verses long, but soo powerful. The words in italics are the psalm verses.

Verse 1- Praise the Lord ! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! (This shows where and when. Praise Him in church and out. Some translations say praise Him under the skies. You can praise God EVERYWHERE your feet tread. You don’t have to wait for Sunday’s church service to lift His name on High! So praise Him always and everywhere! )

Verse 2- Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! (This shows why. Praise Him because He has been good to you. Praise Him because He is Lord and He is mighty. Recognize His sovereignty and Lordship over all things including your life.)

Verse 3- Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! (This shows what! We are to praise Him with what we have. Whatever you have can be used to pour back to Him in praise. Here it is a trumpet, lute, and harp. Big, loud instruments that make lots of noise so that ALL around the musicians know that they are praising God. Praise God with the big decisions in your life. Consult with Him about every major decision. Trust Him in your relationships and with where you work and where you live. Praise Him in everything!

Verse 4- Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! (This shows how! Dancing involves your whole body. This could symbolize being all in. Leaving no part of your body out of worship. Giving it all over to Him. And now we have what appear to be smaller instruments, so we are worshipping the Lord with the fine details too. Giving Him the big things as an act of praise, but also the little things too so that every conversation, every business transaction, every movement can become a way to honor Him.

Verse 5- Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! (Let your praise be loud and obvious! Meaning everyone you know should know that you are a follower of Jesus. Your praise and your walk in the earth will show it.)

Verse 6- Let everything that has breath praise the Lord ! Praise the Lord ! ( And finally, who should praise the Lord…. Everything thing that has breath. The Lord speaks in absolutes so often and I take Him right at His word. Let Everything that has breath praise Him. When living things do what God designed them to do, it brings God honor and glory. When a butterfly emerges from its cocoon, the Lord’s handiwork can be seen. In the birth of every living thing you can see our Creator at work. And people were designed by God to be in fellowship and to honor Him with our praise. As we walk according to the truth of His Word, and we walk as He designed us, we are praising Him. And eventually every knee will bow in reverence to Him. Right now, every time you praise Him, He comes and inhabits your praises!! What an amazing revelation. And when your whole life praises Him, He is there inhabiting your praise at all times. What an amazing way to be in close fellowship with Him! Just to do exactly what this psalm says and let absolutely everything we have and all that we are praise Him!!!

Psalm 150:1‭-‬6 ESV

As I worked through this post and thought more and more about these 6 verses, I got my bible out. Earlier this morning, I read the psalm in the Bible App. This time, I pulled out my well loved NKJV and was blown away by what I saw! Psalm 150 is the FINAL psalm! The final say. The end of a book filled with praises to the Lord. Six verses summed the whole book up! Six verses! The Lord created the whole earth and everything in it in 6 days! The glory cloud of God rested on the Mt. Sinai for 6 days before God called Moses up to meet with Him. The people marched on the walls of Jericho for 6 days before the walls finally broke on the 7th day, and they moved ahead in victory.

Then, I got so excited that I got out the NIV and the Passion translation too. Wow, this psalm is so filled with treasures, and I’ve never studied it before. I can tell I’ve never mediated too deeply on this psalm because there is no writing in my bibles on Psalm 150, and when I am studying the Word in my bible, I write all over the page. I will be spending some time studying this precious final psalm in the book of Psalms! So much wisdom in it to be found.

So the final takeaway is that your praise using these same principles can invade every single part of your life so that everything you have, everything you are, and everything you do becomes praise! When you praise, faith rises up and this is how mountains move, seas split, walls fall, war is waged in the spiritual realm, and victory is attained. Its through your praise!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Give us fresh revelation of how to praise you fully and wholly in everything that we do and all that we are! You are so worthy of our highest and best praise!

In Jesus’s name, Amen.

    1. Thank you Patty! I am praying to worship Him with everything and with that prayer I will have to be willing to submit my all to Him again and again each day. Praise God for His patience with us! 🙂

    1. Amen. Such a blessed chapter. Praise truly moves God and it shouldn’t be limited to just singing. It should be our lifestyle and it should reflect in our living. 💯
      Thanks ma’am. ❤
      Happy new week. 🙂

  1. Such a blessing that I found these words of wisdom this morning. The Lord has shown me the power of the psalms over the last month that I have shared with my Sunday school class. Hope you don’t mind but I want to share some of these thoughts on psalm 150 with my class this Sunday.. I made a note that psalm 150 is like the “Amen” of psalms. Thank you!!
