Seeds below the surface

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start.

A new day to keep trusting when you can’t see movement.

A new day to keep your eyes on Jesus.

A new day to partner with hope afresh.

It’s the seedling that emerges that will require light, but in the season where the seed is getting ready to break out of its dormant state, darkness is needed.

And while the seed is below the surface, and away from the human eye, we may be tempted to believe it won’t work. The seed won’t germinate. It won’t grow. It just won’t happen for this seed. But then, seemingly out of nowhere, a small seedling breaks through the surface! Breakthrough!

The same can be true in our lives. We may be in a dark season, but don’t discount the seeds that are being planted in you in the dark. God is sowing seeds of faith, patience, trust in God, perseverance, resilience, and the lessons that God has just for you.

I can look back at each struggle and see how God spoke to me or was gently teaching me something in my dark hours.

Just because your eyes don’t see movement, doesn’t mean there aren’t seeds being sown, watered, and fertilized. The Lord is working all things out. He is gently planting seeds in your spirit. He is gardening your soul at the same time that He is working and shifting and answering prayers regarding the things you are experiencing in the earth.

So today, you can rest as you trust His gardening in your life. He is sowing and tending to you with the utmost of care. In any dark area where you are asking Him, “Where are you in this matter Lord?“, in those areas, He may be planting seeds that need the dark to break open and sprout.

Then when the sun rises again, your seedlings of breakthrough can bask in the sunshine and grow strong and secure because of what happened beneath the surface in the dark spaces.

We can experience the peace Jesus promised when we learn to rest in Him and trust that He is moving and working even in the dark when we cannot see it.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Teach us to glorify You in all seasons. Give us peace needed to stay grounded in You even through disaster, disappointment, loss, and the dark areas of our lives where there seems to be no movement. Help us to trust You even in the dark when we cannot see You at work. Let us be a people who trust in all seasons through all things.

In Jesus’s name, Amen.

We may think nothing good can come out of the dark times we have lived this year, but God is sowing good seeds in many hearts and minds, and what comes up will be beautiful!”
