Week 5: Scripture Memorization

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start.

A new day to rise and read and meditate on the living, active Word of God.

I am slipping a little behind in memorizing the weekly scriptures, but every day is a new chance to keep trying.

Even if I miss a few days or fall behind, I am committed to keep trying. I am choosing to just keep picking these scriptures back up and reading them, writing them, and getting them into my spirit.

Now that we are on week 5, there are a total of 10 verses so far.

A few tips that I am sharing as an encouragement for you as well as myself:

Be patient with yourself and just keep reading over them each day.

Read them when you first wake up.

Read them before you go to bed.

Read them over a warm cup of coffee.

Read them and ask Holy Spirit to stamp them on your heart.

Take your time and don’t feel rushed to be able to recite them all from memory right away.

Instead of focusing on the goal of memorizing, just enjoy reading them, reciting them, and feasting on them like a 5 star meal.

Remember, they are your spiritual food and drink and they will quench your thirsty soul.

The Navigator’s Tool has divided them into 6 week sections, and next week will be week 6. After that, we will take two weeks to review all the scriptures thus far before moving onto the next set of six. I will write a blog post with all 12 verses in one post so that you have them all in one place to read and study.

Take it slow and easy, be kind to yourself, and enjoy the process of learning them rather than just focusing on the end goal.

This week’s theme is fellowship.

Verse 2:

Memorization Tool:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help us to memorize Your Holy Words. Strengthen our resolve and help us to make time to read and soak in scripture. Lord, write Your Words on our hearts and weave it into our spirit so that it cannot ever depart from us.

In Jesus’s name,

Amen.

Blessings!

  1. yay! Thank you, Chick! Phew, glad we get a little break soon to consolidate, though I’m amazed at what we’ve achieved already. Thank you, Precious. 😀

  2. Hi Vanessa Lynn,

I wanted to see if you’re familiar with The Bible Memory App or Bible Memory Kids. They are fantastic apps for scripture memorization. There is a FREE version and a PRO version. My sweet nephew is the creator and I LOVE to share about it! You can go to BibleMemory.com to learn more or please reach out to me if I can help in any way!

    Blessings,
    Ashley
