Elohim: You are the Strong and Mighty Creator.

Good Morning Gorgeous,

It’s a brand new day. A fresh new start. A new day to rise and walk in revelation of who this amazing God that we serve is and the awe inspiring ways that He has revealed His power and might and character to us.

The very first name that God is called in the Bible is Elohim. In Genesis, God establishes the very first glimpse into His nature and His power. He is the all powerful Creator of ALL things in heaven and on earth.

Genesis 1:1 begins with a solid truth that is essential for us to receive in FULL faith that it is so. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

Let us not just breeze over that first and very important verse. It clears up so much. It makes clear that this earth and everything in it were purposeful, planned, chosen, and CREATED.

And Created by a God so powerful and mighty that He could make it all come together in perfect harmony with just His Word going forth.

He has the power to simply speak a word and the Universe comes into existence and the light begins to shine. He speaks again and the atmosphere is here.

He continues to simply speak “Let there be…..” and after each command the Bible says, “And it was so….”

Wow! Our very first introduction to the Lord and He is speaking the World right into being. He is able to command stars into existence, He speaks the sun and the moon. He speaks to the land and the sea, He speaks to the birds, fish, and animals. And then He gets to mankind…

For mankind, He most certainly could have spoken, but instead He gets much much more personal. He makes a plan and discusses it with the trinity. The triune God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. “Let us make man in our image.”

Gorgeous Friends, soak in the truth that God CREATED everything that this precious earth is teeming with. The varieties of butterflies with their intricate designs. The birds of the air, every species. The fish and mammals of the sea, every species. The animals from one end of the earth to the next. The gorgeous plants and flowers that adorn all different types of habitats. The beautiful people that you see around you. The sun, the stars, the fields, the landscapes, and YOU.

And as we realize that He is so creative and so powerful that He made everything in the heavens and the earth, faith begins to arise that He can also care for us and we can trust in His mighty power as well as His loving kindness toward us.

He so lovingly and carefully made mankind. Touching the earth and forming Adam with His Hands, and then breathing His own breath into Adam’s lungs. He could have spoken a Word again, but this creation was to be special. This creation would bear His image. This creation would be His Pride and Joy. He would sing and dance over His people. Zephaniah 3:17 says that God rejoices over us with songs of gladness!

But I sometimes just takes these truths for granted and don’t let my mind sit and mull them over. So I pause this morning and I imaging the Lord speaking the World onto being. I see in my mind’s eye things appearing at the Words the Lord is speaking. As I imagine it, He is speaking with a firm, authoritative voice that causes things to shift, appear, and set right into place. Everything obeys His Word and the world is coming together. He is smiling and rejoicing with dancing and gladness over what He has made. It is perfect and the timing is just right. He is making the earth which was formless and void into a grand masterpiece.

When you allow yourself some liberty to really sit and daydream about creation, its awe inspiring. You begin to marvel at the miracle of it all. And you begin to glimpse into an important part of God’s Character. He is the Creator of all things in heaven and on earth.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Wow! Wow! Wow! I am amazed by You. You are the Creator and Sustainer of all things. You speak and the earth and everything in it obeys and springs into being. Let me walk today with an awareness of your might and power. Let me walk in awe of the earth and the beauty all around me. Help me to understand how precious I am to You since You planned and formed me and placed me here on purpose for a purpose. And you did this for each of us. Praise You mighty and Creator Lord.

In Jesus’s name, Amen..
